ds is 5 weeks old, and had first period last week. noticed i didnt feel as full as normal, and definitely no engorgement, and ds was also a lot more hungry....are they linked?

also, i thought i would have a few more weeks AF free...when did you guys have your period return after the birth...have been exclusively breastfreeding too....

yeah it can affect your milk supply. i noticed with all of mine that they fed a lot more frequently when i had my period

does stop after a while tho, when they're on solids and don't need as much milk

i got my periods back at 6 weeks, 7 weeks and 12 weeks

blimey, (sorry to hijack) my periods haven't come back yet. I'm bf DS who is 9 months. Does this sound right?

ClimberChick · 23/07/2010 21:14

crikey, don't worry thats normal. There was a thread a short while ago where people listed when their periods returned while bf.

could it be lochia?? I was running around so much after birth that I bled for 8 weeks

crikeybadger · 23/07/2010 21:27

Phew, thanks climberchick.

lochia stopped after 3.5 weeks, period started at 5 weeks and lasted usual 5 days...had the stomach cramps to go with it.

even though feeding loads didnt have increase in milk..
