Was this weird?

On the weekend, I noticed a woman sat on my garden wall BF her tiny baby. I went out and asked her if she'd like to come in and sit comfortably whilst she fed her baby (explained that I was bf my 8mo)...she said she was okay so I gave her a glass of water and had a little chat.

Would you think it was weird if a stranger invited you into their home? I hope I didn't scare her!

I think that's lovely of you and no I wouldn't think it was weird I would just think that she too was a mother

Fink · 15/07/2010 19:52

Possibly weird if she had been randomly out in the street, but she was on your wall, so not weird at all.

waitingforbedtime · 15/07/2010 19:52

no

howmanykidsinmygarden · 15/07/2010 19:58

I think you sound lovely, she probably appreciated the offer even if she didn't actually take you up on it.

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 15/07/2010 19:59

No, not weird at all. It was a lovely gesture

catwhiskers10 · 16/07/2010 10:07

No, i wouldnt think it was weird but i wouldnt have gone in either!

Littlefish · 16/07/2010 10:14

I think that it was lovely of you to offer. Like catswhiskers, I don't think I would have taken you up on your offer, but would have been really touched that you had offered. You are obviously a very kind person.

Morloth · 16/07/2010 10:23

Not weird, nice.

I probably wouldn't have accepted either, but would have appreciated the offer.

TulipsInTheSunshine · 16/07/2010 10:31

How lovely of you

PickledMoomin · 16/07/2010 18:27

Glad it wasn't a weird thing to do - I don't think I'd go into a stranger's house with .

Mmmm... to be honest, I'd assume that you were offended about me sitting on the wall.

I guess it depends on the approach. If you came out and started chatting and saying how cute babies were and how you loved breastfeeding your own, and then after a few minutes invited me in, that would feel fine. But if practically the first words out of your mouth were about inviting me in, I'd assume that you were embarassed or perhaps even annoyed about me leaning on your wall (and felt sorry for me on both counts).

And then I'd feel irked that you seem to find me embarrassing, iyswim.

Aww, we need more nice people like you
