Trying to remember a book series about families settling in Canada

Years ago I read a series of books about a family / families going to Canada in the olden days and settling there.

I would love to re- read them but can't remember the name - does anyone know what I am referring to please?

It wasn’t Susannah of the Mounties was it?

The Whiteoaks series, by Mazo de la Roche
might fit the bill.
