Sorry for the delay, a few glitches on the poll page kept us back but here is our brand new shiny June Book of the Month page.

We've extended the voting until 8pm Thursday 5th June so you've got just over a week to make up your mind. And we'll be discussing the winner on Tuesday 1st July usual time 8-10pm (with an author chat attached, we hope).

Will join, will just give me an opportunity to lower the pile of books by my bed.

OOh have voted - haven't joined in since the first one as have had so many books on bookshelf (and have a RL book club). Anyway, have voted for one I was about to read from my bookcase (although I really want the Coe so if that wins I shall join in that one too !).

the Coe is really good - and surprisingly quick to read too.

I'm keen to read the Sebastian Faulks new Bond book, that's more my level at the moment rather than Engleby I think...

Hmmm, that might be my fault - the tech guys probably set it to the end of the day rather than 8pm. We had a few problems getting it set up so that's probably why the times got confused.

I reckon we have our winner...Jonathan Coe inches ahead of the other three. But shall I wait for 8pm just to be certain?

btw, did you see that Rose Tremain won the Orange Prize last night? Sad for Charlotte, although I'm a big Rose fan too and its about time she got to win something.

If you buy the Times newspaper in W H Smith today, you can get hold of the Jonathan Coe book for just £2.99. I have mine!

I was given a copy of the hb for my birthday last year, which I've been saving up. Has not stopped me coveting this edition though... when I win the lottery etc. etc.

PS there is a pocket of serious Coe fans on MN, isn't there? Sure I have seen many of them nail their colours to the mast in the adult fiction threads before.
