Book Subscription Boxes?

Does anyone subscribe to any of the hundreds of book boxes out there?

I'm seeing adverts for them a lot lately online, but are they any good? I like the idea of a surprise book so I get to try new authors but don't know anyone who subscribes.

Also any recommendations for any of them, with content and prices.

I had a subscription to Daunt’s last year and was really pleased with all the books they chose for me. It was lovely to have a gift wrapped book arrive every month and I really looked forward to it.

I subscribe to books that matter. Its £20 and you get a new release plus some little bits that change every month. I really recommend it. They have a box reveal on their Instagram if you want to see what you get :)

I set up a genre subscription with Bert’s books, so I get a bestselling new release in my chosen genre each month, and I love it!

I’ve had several (consecutive) subscriptions with Willoughby Book club. They sent some really good books and were very good about it when I had read the book previously. In the end I took their spoiler option which removed the surprise but meant I knew it would be new for me.
I’ve been given a Rare Birds Books subscription for Christmas so I’m now waiting for my first book. RB focus on female writers and a couple of their recommendations were bought as Christmas presents and they were amazing.
Willoughby aims to select something to suit you based on a questionnaire you complete at the start. RB gives you a choice of two books each month with a minimal synopsis of each and you choose 1 (or both for an extra fee) then find out what it is on arrival.
I can’t wait.

I highly recommend Finsbury Books. Loved my first book and looking forward to my next one
