Please do not ever stop writing Jackson Brody books.

Thank you!

Seconded
She’s brilliant

BitOfFun · 08/05/2020 22:42

He'd sort everything out.

DDemelza · 08/05/2020 22:44

One of my favourite living writers.😍

I especially love WWTBGN.

YinMnBlue · 08/05/2020 22:52

Since Lockdown I have read Big Sky and A God In Ruins, just about to start Transcription.

Have read everything else as soon as it came out, I can remember reading ‘Behind the Scenes’ when first published and knowing she was a writer I would always read.

And yes, Brodie would sort it all out Grin

Very much what you said.

YinMnBlue · 08/05/2020 23:45

I am not quite sure that I have forgiven the real story of Teddy (delicately avoiding a spoiler) in A God in Ruins but a week later, and on reflection, maybe quality better than quantity iyswim.

Thank you OP and PPs! After seeing this thread, I ordered three of them (from Jackson Brodie series) and loving them! Smile

YinMnBlue · 18/05/2020 22:16

Ooh, I wish I was starting at the beginning again!

@YinMnBlue - yes, my stomach plummeted with that reveal in A God In Ruins.
I love a book that you can still ponder on years after reading it. Kate Atkinson writes just that sort of book. Life After Life is definitely in my top ten.
Whoever cast Jason Isaacs as Jackson Brodie deserves an award IMO.

theinvisablewoman · 10/06/2020 21:42

Just to say I agree

ExpletiveDelighted · 10/06/2020 21:51

Yes, I agree too

TheThingWithFeathers · 10/06/2020 22:01

I'm embarrassed to admit that although KA is one of my favourite writers, I've never read any of the Jackson Brodie books. I now know what I'll be doing with my forthcoming week off work!

wigglerose · 20/09/2020 16:19

I don't think her current writing is as good as Behind the Scenes or Human Croquet, but I bloody love her. Must re-read Life After Life and A God In Ruins.

SlightlyJaded · 18/10/2020 20:43

I've never found the ending of a novel as visceral as I did with A God in Ruins. Without wanting to spoil it, I was completely overwhelmed when I understood.
