Got asked by a tradesman the other day, "Have you moved in recently?" We have lived here 12 years . I tried to look around with new eyes and saw cardboard boxes of books, piles of "stuff" , heaps of coats, mounds of shoes... I need this book badly!

I'm hoping to be one of the lucky 50. We've lived in this house 8 years now, longer than we've ever been in one place before. Without a house move to prompt a clear out every nook and cranny is crammed full of stuff. Would be great to have a book club that also became a support group for the decluttering 'Un f*ckers'.

I'm determined to get our house sorted out this year. In our defence, we all have medical issues that make things more tricky, but I am sick of the mess, and the embarrassment if an unexpected guest drops in. Babysteps are great, but I think my house needs gallumphing great big steps to make a dent in the mess!
