Which one shall I read first??!!! Lucky Break, A Perfectly Good Man or The Sisters Brothers

I'm new to MN book club. I thought I'd have a look at the books you read in 2012. I've been to the library and the ones they had were -

Lucky Break - Esther Freud
A Perfectly Good Man - Patrick Gale
The Sisters Brothers - Patrick deWitt

Wondering which one I should start with???

A Perfectly Good Man - I loved it - my favourite of last year's book club. Hope you will like it too :)

I wasn't that keen on The Sisters Brothers, although lots of people thought it was good - a bit bloodthirsty for me

Lucky Break's a pleasant easy read. Not a favourite, but I didn't dislike it.

If you come across The Paris Wife by Paula McLain (if you haven't already read it), it's very good.

Thanks for that Duchess - I'll start with A Perfectly Good Man, then Lucky Break and I'll look out for the Paris Wife - They didn't have it in either library I went in today, but maybe I can reserve it.

Agree with what Duchess said and Next to love by Ellen feldman was an excellent read too.

Thanks Hormonal - I've just started A Perfectly Good Man. I'll take a look at Next to Love as well. After the webchat with Gillian Flynn last night I really want to read Dark Places too. Not enough hours!

I've also discovered GoodReads after seeing it mentioned somewhere on MN. So I've set it up so I'm armed with names/authors when I go to the library next.

A perfectly good man. I loved it. Am now reading 'notes on an exhibition', also by Patrick gale. It is also really good.

APGM is a great book :)

A Perfectly Good Man - Patrick Gale's book is an interesting read - thought provoking and quite deep.
I couldn't get on with Lucky Break at all.
