Food of Love by Kate Evans

NHS Pregnancy/Birth to 5 if you want detailed descriptions of latching

Dozeyland · 29/12/2010 18:53

did you get given that or read online?

My HV hasnt given me one..

The NHS one? Was given that and afaik you still are but I suppose they might have been cut. I will have a look around as if I can find mine I'll happily send it to you.
However, if you are having problems you should be getting RL help - are there any bf groups near you? Is your HV any good?
Are you being treated for thrush?

The Politics of Breastfeeding - do not be put off by the title: it is fab, inspiring, informative and confidence inspiring. I really wish I'd read it before I had DS1. It will also make you angry though...

For practical advice re latching etc I like Dr Jack Newman's website and Kellymom.

The Baby Book by Dr Sears is non-prescriptive and matches my more touchy-feely approach to looking after young babies. A bit annoyingly American though.

Different books/approaches will agree with different people.

Yy to food of love

Bestfeeding - not sure it's by

Re baby books - what mothers do, especially when it looks like nothing

StealthPolarBear · 29/12/2010 19:01

oh yes the politics is brilliant - is an 'interest' rather than a 'help' book but it gives you loads of motivation

Dozeyland · 29/12/2010 22:07

Yeah im asking this topic for interest more than help... thanks for your replies.

The food of love is a brilliant read

General baby book - Best book for me is Gina Ford. Dont care about anyone elses opinion but what she does makes sence and the routines do work. Both my boys are a sucess of GF.
