Cheltenham Ladies sixth form process

Tentatively looking at CLC for sixth form. I understand that they get far more applications than they have places but wanted to know if anyone has been through the process; how was it? Were you successful? How is life there? How much competition for the top sports teams?

Any other advice, feedback invited too.

Thanks 😀

Hopefully someone else can give you an answer about Sixth Form. We just moved to Cheltenham from abroad and my 2 daughters have now started at CLC in Upper College as day girls. They love it so far. Everyone is very welcoming and friendly. They were worried there would be mean girls or a competitive, cliquey atmosphere, but it is not like that at all. Girls seem very happy.

I also hope someone else can weigh in about competitive sport. My impression is that CLC caters for girls who are very intensively involved with their sport, and they also cater for girls who are not particularly interested in sport. They stream the sports sessions/Games, so the serious team players do squad training while the recreational option is much more relaxed. My daughters fall into the latter group and this is a major reason they didn't choose Cheltenham College, where they also had day pupil offers. For my DDs, sport is eg a friendly game of volleyball where no one minds if you aren't brilliant at it.
