Just seen the announcement on Facebook. Very sad. I hope that the parents are able to find somewhere else.

Unsurprised after the thread on here from a concerned parent a few weeks ago. Think she had a lovely quirky DD who the school was perfect for. Thinking of all the parents and kids but especially her and her DD.

It's terrible for some children but VAT should have been applied decades ago.

@DisforDarkChocolate kids and staff and community. closing independent schools has a much wider effect than vat collection.
the money paid for jobs, and with those jobs people spent their earned income.
the sad part is what i currently read about state schools (which of course varies immensely) with full knowledge that closing this school will in no way benefit state schools and will only detriment the children.
i hope other local independents help out and offer places to the children who need spots.

Why? Private schools are not taxed anywhere else in the Western world. Not in Europe, New Zealand, Canada, USA, Australia... Why should the UK have done so?

How many students did they end up? It is a shame for the other Malvern girls schools such as Lawnside that were connected to it. I wonder what they will do with all their memorabilia? End of an era for many old girls.
