Hopefully the children whose education is disrupted by this are able to find places in alternative schools relatively quickly. That won't eliminate the impact on those working towards exams even if the school has managed to maintain contracts for some staff until the summer. I suspect staff will have a much harder time to find new work. This is not a good time to find yourself unemployed.
The important thing to remember is that Starmer got a few headlines from adding VAT to school fees and so the goal of the policy was achieved, irrespective of the impact on children and teachers (though I suspect few if any actual votes were gained as anyone that supported the policy probably voted Labour anyway).
