My DD boarded at Wymondham, but left before sixth form.

Do you need full boarding? If so, be warned that it really empties out on weekends. We were too far away for DD to come home and so she spent a lot of time entertaining herself. They make a big deal about the "Big Weekenders" but that is literally once a term.

That said, the school is good academically and by sixth form perhaps your DC is more independent and doesn't need other people to be around at weekends.

Times have definitely changed. When I was at WC nearly all 6th formers were there every weekend. That was 1981 though.

1981? The year Charles and Di got married. That was a great year.

My experience is a few years out of date (not as far back as 1981 though!). DS went there. Liked it, got amazing A level grades. What do you want to know in particular? It's known as a good school locally. A fair amount of Norfolk kids board there and I think there's an initial induction period where they are encouraged no contact with home to settle in, which some find hard as home is so near. Actually, by 6th form the boarders tend to be more international.

But yeah, Wym Col is a seen as a good and valid choice here.

We would send DD only for Sixth form, she would probably board.
I have seen some awful stuff online about rape, staff adding pupils in Snapchat etc...

I am very careful indeed with believing information like that, but just wan to gather as much info as possible, really.

To be honest we did not feel that the school’s pastoral care was sufficient and ultimately moved her to another school, but she was not in sixth form so your experience could be very different.
