We had a worse experience in a so-called famous c_SFC.

Based on that school’s website information and education agency, we sent our children to that so-called famous boarding school. It's boasted the students’ exam results were top but there are other stories.

Nightmare started after sending our children to the school. Teachers’ quality varied and some of them were not familiar with syllabus and gave students many wrong answers of questions. They gave as many homework or tests as possible to students to train them as machines. Good exam results of students ‘cos they always selected top foreign or rich students and kicked out the students who do not meet their targets or poor ones. If your children were kicked out, u must have difficulty to find another good schools to continue studies.

No caring or motivation to students. Bullies are not very uncommon. They'll hide the bullies.

They're extremely money-minded and highly commercial/profit making. They will use different excuses to charge the parents or forfeit their huge deposit.

Pls select a good and caring boarding school for your children and don't just believe what the school and agency said especially their exam results. Thank you

And by specifics I mean facts, not just conclusions and accusations.

So reading between the lines I'm guessing you are an overseas family who used an agency to find a suitable boarding school for your child in the UK. If so, then yes, sadly these agencies are pretty unscrupulous and pass off less well known schools, which are often not true boarding schools (i.e. predominantly day schools which need to fill their boarding places), as top tier. I used to live in HK and would have local friends asking my opinion on schools I'd never heard of which were being pushed by agents who get commission. They also sell a weird, and unrealistic image of UK boarding schools like it's something out of Enid Blyton. One kid I know thought she'd get a cream tea every day.

I would be surprised if the school is lying about their published public exam results as that would be fairly easy for anyone to disprove and also easy for a parent to check. However it's also a universal truth that all schools' exam results largely reflect their intake and managing out happens.

It sounds as though this was just not a good choice. For international boarders I'd always suggest a majority boarding school and ideally a majority full boarding school, or at least one with a LOT of internationals so it doesn't clear out at weekends.

Just google it like I did! I have never considered it for my DS because of the location, but surely it's on the top of the league table.
