Ripon Grammar Boarding

Does anyone have any experience of Ripon Grammar School boarding please for a DD?

Hi there yes DD is in Yr 8. I think I asked the same question a couple of years ago when we were looking at our CAF options, overall, I'm really pleased with the school and I really do have confidence in the boarding side of things. Staff are great, atmosphere is lovely and the girls are generally kept well occupied.

mkdmumofflash we are potentially looking at it for DD for sixth form. I realise your child is in year 8 but can you comment on the school and academic side and how do they get such good results please?

I'm pretty happy with the academics, but I suspect that view depends on your options - our local secondary (not in a grammar) area has 32% 9-5 at GCSE so Ripon feels head and shoulders above that. There is homework and it's clear the 6th formers work hard, but they certainly seem to have opportunities and time for extra curricular activities.
