Things to take when boarding

Hi all, my child is about to head into senior school as a full boarder.

Any recommendations/ top tips for boarding essentials that may not officially appear on the school list, but, that made boarding for your child more comfortable or that they couldn't do without?

Our child is boarding for the first time.
In addition to all the stuff on the list we are taking photos and blutack to stick by their bed, a blanket and a cushion.

In addition to the list DC is taking

• Bedside lamp (just a cheap clip on one)
• Alarm clock
• spare water bottle as will almost certainly lose one immediately
• spare mouthguard (see above)
• pins for pin board
• apple tags for sports and school bag
• spare charging cables
• lock box for valuables in addition to tuck box.

Based on advice from that thread and friends, I've minimised amount of home clothes as apparently they just wear the same pair of track b's constantly.
