Hi, my DD is yr 6 and we are working through school options after prep. The two schools we have identified in the SW are both CE 13+ schools. She has been told by her prep that she will likely need Maths at A and English at B for a place, at Level 2. Apparently so long as she gets a C or higher in other subjects the academic head at our prep thinks she will be fine and will be able to do this, however she is struggling a little with french and science (time yet!). Before we start to apply I want to sense check what level of "academic" school this usually indicates as I want to ensure we are not under or over selling our daughter. We have not been in the prep or UK for long, 2 years so still learning the ropes. A friend told me unless she was case or sitting level 3 then an AB/ plus C+ is above average but not super selective but I don't even know what that means!!
