Repton School - honest opinion

Hoping to get some honest opinions of Repton School. My child has been awarded a place yesterday with a drama scholarship and we have 2 weeks to make a decision. They'd be moving from a day school where school for them is ok but they find it boring to a boarding school which for its strengths seems to be busy all the time.

Does anyone have a child currently at the school or recently left and could give me their honest opinions of the school?

How is it pastorally? Bullying?
Are the school happy for children to come home at weekends despite being full boarding? I think they would need a bit of quiet time in the week away from the hustle and bustle of school 24/7.

I have asked these questions of Repton but as with all businesses they're interested in getting you to buy what they're selling (I don't say this negatively)

Name changed as this could be quite outing as friends know we've received an offer.

Thanks for anyone's honest opinions

My husband and friends went here a long time ago so I spend a lot of time around OR’s! What I think they have is an innate confidence; wherever they go and whatever they do, they feel they belong there. My husband never feels socially awkward. I, on the other hand, feel out of place and a bit uncomfortable in overly ‘fancy’ places. They also developed life long friendships and interests (hiking is much more interesting when it’s up Kilimanjaro!) If my DC received a scholarship, I’d be packing them off there like a shot! What an opportunity!

Various friends with DC there. All speak highly of it.
not sure how many stay in at weekends. They have quite a few European hockey imported players so naturally they will stay in. It’s not a school known for proper full boarding so I expect it to be flexible over weekend trips home.
