has anyone had their daughter go through the term in france?

Our DD is hoping to join DH in yr7 as a day pupil- she's never boarded and so the france term is going to be a bit of a shock for all of us.

How much contact can the girls have with parents? could DD speak to us every evening if she needed to whilst in France? (i don't think she will need to, but i'm really interested in how much support from us she can receive).

I think the Sauveterre term is in Year 8? So she would have a year under her belt to get to know the other girls she’d be with. That being said I have heard from a friend whose daughter just did it that it’s a bit rough as a first boarding experience, and a bit no-frills.
