Additional Costs

I know there will be a range, but any guidance on broadly how much the additional costs will rack up on top of standard full-boarding fees would be much appreciated please.

I’m thinking school trips, any weekend activities that dc might want to do if not wanting to come home, chargeable extra curricular clubs etc.

Thanks.

I feel like activities and extra lessons are running us about £1000 a term. Plus you need to assume an allowance for things like tuck, stationary and the never ending themed outfit days.

Don't forget the probability of having to pay for the use of a school device - issued laptop in our case.

We haven't even discussed residential trips with that amount yet.

I think we kind of told ourselves it would realistically run about 5k extra a year on top of fees.

Great thanks @DilettanteMum at least it gives us something to go on.

mine extras are usually £100 per child on the school bill. Exams terms much higher as exam fees are not included in school fees.
I buy tuck and send them in with it. I buy uniform as and when needed.
They don’t do any school trips. They are always optional (and not necessary).
mine at a full boarding school.

Thanks @leftandaright - my concern would be sending DD in with tuck, it wouldn’t last more than a week! Haha
