Recommendations for a good face cream for sensitive skin?

Hi all,

As a Black woman with brown skin, I thought I’d post here to ask for some recommendations.

I have sensitive skin and am looking for an everyday face cream that will keep my skin feeling moisturised and hydrated throughout the day. I’ve tried a few creams in the past, but none have worked particularly well for me.

I’ve tried CeraVe and Cetaphil face creams, but both left my skin feeling dry rather than hydrated. I’ve also tried Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cream, but it caused me to break out.

I don’t mind spending more on a moisturiser if it genuinely works and is worth the money.

Thank you!

I use Olay day cream with SPF and Nivea.

I love the Lumene range…I use the balance one as I have combination skin it has been amazing I love their face serums too. They usually have an offer on the £10 Tuesday Boots offer on a lot of their range but I’m happy to pay full price too as it works so well with my skin. Bonus that it’s cruelty free too.

I use raw shea butter, on my face, and whole body. I purchase it from Akoma Skincare. It is the only thing I use.

DD’s skin is sensitive and we get Zeroderm and Cetreben on prescription. I also get Shea butter.

We used to use Aveeno but it was very light and we would get through it very quickly so the cost was a bit too much in the end.

We’re in a hard water area so the thing that made the biggest difference for her and her mum was the face washing routine. We bought loads of 100% cotton face towels and they wash their faces with bottled/filtered and boiled then cooled water. They use Zeroderm instead of soap and then exfoliate gently with 1-2 cotton towels before chucking them in the laundry. We have over 100 of them now so they go in their own wash with gentle powder and conditioner.

Never heard of this range. Are they good for sensitive skin?

@SammyVine90 I’m not sure as I personally use the balancing one which I can 100% recommend. My friend uses the sensitive skin one and she loves it too (it was her that introduced me to the range as her skin looks amazing). https://www.boots.com/lumene-nordic-sensitive-rich-day-cream-50ml-10377694

Yes, it was in response to your post asking for recommendations for sensitive skin.

The review don't seem to be good tbh.
