I’ve not kept up with emerging reggae artistes over the years so was happy to see this new (to me) performer called Keznamdi winning the Grammy for reggae album last week.

Anyone have any they’d like to share?

His sister Kelissa is quite food too.

Not new but Lila's first album - dropped end of last year - is beautiful.

Will look her up too. Seems he’s from a musical family.

Smiled to hear him big up ‘mi madda and fahda’, keeping it real and no twang just for the audience when accepting his award 😊

Had vaguely heard of Lila Ike before but now listening to her stuff on Spotify, beautiful voice.

Also came across a recent collab between Protoje and Jr Gong Marley.

Some really nice new reggae/dancehall music out there.

Just listened to Kelissa’s ‘Got to keep my head up’.
Beautiful voice and positive vibes music 🙏🏽

I haven't seen the Grammy's, but that's brilliant 😊. As Warren Weir told the BBC in 2012 - No English, straight patios.

Mortimer is great too. Check out Seani B's BBC 1Xtra im Jamaica (on Youtube) and you'll find lots of good artistes featured there.

You mean ‘bare patwa’ 😂

I remember Warren as part of that fabulous 1, 2, 3 win with Bolt and Blake. Was there and afterwards took pictures with friends as we posed with three fingers and shouted ‘wan, two, tree’ .
We were all laughing at a group of stooshies nearby doing similar but the proper English version 😂
Good times.

Will check out Seani B’s channel.

Isata is brilliant! Also love seeing what hair she’s rocking from time to time.

Couldn’t open your link but came across this with her and Sheku, still very humble despite all their success.

Thank you all, it’s been lovely listening to such beautiful and uplifting music today. I’ve heard all the artistes mentioned.

Had my AirPods in the whole day and pretended I couldn’t hear the family speaking to me 😂

It was also good to get a break from the external noise and some of the unpleasantness in the news that seems to be shouting at us every day.

Apologies to your family 😂.

Seriously though, it's good to have a place you can sometimes escape to that uplifts and regenerates your spirit. 💛💚🖤

What! And give the game away?! 😂

It’s part of the plan to care for myself a bit more, soul food.

Oh also, I saw Queen Omega recently at a festival. She was brilliant. I don’t know how long she’s been around but she was “new” to me 💚

Loving listening to Lady Wray today 💖

TheRealKatnissEverdeen · 16/02/2026 21:04

Lovely thread.
I find I know lots of tunes but never the artists. Husband is a DJ so should really have a clue with the artists but I don't, particularly the younger ones.

Listened to her on a walk tonight. Some sweet old style soul 🥰

I can hear Prince in some of her music especially the song Higher.

🙏🏽
