DD has asian/black caribbean/white heritage and her hair is thick, loose curls with a tendency to be dry and get matted. We don't have a huge range of options here and she is currently using Shea Moisture Jamaican Black Castor Oil shampoo and conditioner. She will be moving to London which has much harder water than we have here, which she knows doesn't work all that well with her current products. However, on the upside, there is a much wider range of products available. Could I have some recommendations of where to start so that she doesn't have to buy and test every brand? Thanks in advance.

I’ve just discovered the brand ‘Yari’ and their Green Curls line - you can buy the products online. There are lots of reviews online so take a look!

Keep that Shampoo and try loreal elvive intensive oil conditioner in the bronze/ orange bottle, similar hair and i live in very hard water. I always revert to that combo!!

Thank you both, I'll get her to give those a try.

My nieces and nephews use Cantu hair products. They have similar hair type to your daughter. They like it , keeps their hair lovely and it smells amazing. It’s not massively expensive and usually on offer somewhere.

they live in a hard water area.

She could come to somewhere like Peckham which has specialist shops for black hair and she might get some advice? (I am white but I live here and there are a few huge hair shops on the main shopping street, because we have a big west African population.)

I have naturally curly hair that’s a bit wild ( I’m not black ) and i use cantu , get it in boots . Also like Aussie though .
After washing & conditioning I Use palmers coconut leave in conditioner spray every day .
very hard water area here .

We can get Cantu here, but she's not that keen on it. But it might be better in a hard water area.

Cantu is awful for mixed hair. Very drying. My dd uses boucleme and amika products. We're London based.
