Hi,

I need some help looking after my babies hair, does anyone have any recommendations for products they use for their babies Afro hair? I have natural hair but I don’t feel like my products are suitable for her and my hair is normally in braids, my baby also seems to have quite sensitive skin and eczema

I currently use child’s farm shampoo and conditioner once a week to wash her hair which she hasn’t reacted to thankfully and daily I use water mist and Shea butter/coconut oil mix, but her hair seems dry and the back isn’t growing as much as I would like, and I would also like to define her curls when we go out, are 10 months old

thanks in advance for you help!

Hi OP

I think her hair growth sounds normal for 10 months and a lot of babies have less hair around the back at this age.

I dont think you need to worry yet about specific products for her hair or defining a curl pattern but if you wish to use products then keep it light and natural.
Not all products work for everyone. Coconut oil can be drying on some afro hair and doesn't work for all. After your water mist maybe try a little jamaican black castor oil or jojoba oil.
You can use shea butter on her skin too if you're concerned about eczema and pure vitamin e is also good too.

Thank you, I will definitely give the vitamin e a try on her skin, and I have Jamaican castor oil that I use for myself so will try that too
