Living in newbury, experiences as a black person/ black family

My husband and I just welcomed a baby girl and are looking to out down roots. We currently rent in central reading and are looking to buy however the prices in reading are going through the roof. Also would like a calmer more suburban area to raise the family so we're looking at Newbury.

Newbury seems to have a number of good schools and people have great things to say about the area however my concern is around diversity. Long story short, Any black mums in Newbury? How is it like living there as a black family? Is it relatively diverse? Wouldn't want my baby to be the only black is in her class.

Thanks!

Hi. Not black so can't really comment much on that personally, but this site might help. Newbury Stats
I live in Thatcham though which is kind of like the dull half of Newbury. It's what Hove is to Brighton. Nearly joined together but it gets the huge estates of houses whereas Newbury gets all the nice stuff.

Thank you so much, the site really helps! Haha @all the nice stuff. We plan on visiting the area a couple of times to give us a feel. Hopefully that helps us in deciding as well. Thanks for the response!
