Good School Catchment Areas in Sheffield

Hi all,
We are planning to move to Sheffield from London and rent a 3 bedroom house. We have 3 children and one will be needing secondary school and the others primary and nursery.

A good school catchment area is what we want.
We work from home so job is not a problem.

which areas would you recommend that are diverse as we have a black heritage.

Please share school names and Postcode too!

Unfortunately diverse communities and good school catchments are not often found together in Sheffield. You could however look at Mercia school (run on the Michaela model) with a view to living in Nether Edge, or, if you are a practising Christian (ideally Catholic) then Notre Dame and All Saints are both good schools with wide catchments giving plenty of options of places to live.

These are schools friends children have attended the most popular being Newfield and Tapton. I'm not a 100% but think Mercia is no.1 in Sheffield at the moment. Friends children have really enjoyed Tapton as they are Arty and Sporty children. Other friends children love Newfield as it's quite mixed and great for music.

If you want a secondary school with a 6th form you are better off on the south or centre of Sheffield as the provision in North Sheffield is limited. It only has a 6th form college and 1 small 6th form. The schools mentioned by other posters are good schools and my experience with Silverdale as a parent was very good (although this was 10 years ago) and the school had a diverse cohort of students.

Mercia
High Storrs
Tapton
Silverdale
So go for S10, or S11.
