Products/advice for haircare for an 11 yr old boy with mixed race hair

I have 2 boys. The eldest gets braids but the youngest wants to grow his hair.

Unfortunately it grows in a very unusual way. His dad shaved it off during covid and since then it has several different types of curls and straight bits.

His dad's family have tried to help as have other friends by suggesting different moisturisers, shampoos, conditioners etc that have worked for them. None of them have made any difference.

Please can anyone with kids with similar hair give me some more product suggestions?

I've been reading down the threads and seen a silk pillowcase as a suggestion - I presume that means an expensive one? Or would any work the same as long as its silk?

Thanks in advance.

Your post makes absolutely no sense.

Do you want to know why?

Being mixed race doesn't dictate what type of hair you end up with.

I suggest you look on social media e.g. YouTube for people with hair like your son and then see what they use and do for their hair.

You say tips from people with similar hair type but don't say what type of hair he has.
I suppose generally, the very basics of moisture and moisture retention might apply to him? but you are probably looking for more than that.

I've never seen anyone with hair like my son's which is why I'm asking. Half of it grows in tight ringlets, the other half is virtually straight and no amount of teasing it into ringlets, trimming it, moisturising, conditioning etc makes it grow any different. I was just hoping for some new product suggestions as I've tried quite a few already and I don't know which to choose next.

Where did I say that? I said my friends and my ex husband's family have all given suggestions but none work so I was hoping for alternates.

But no worries, I guess here wasn't the right place to ask.
