Susan Hall who had made racist comments in interview about black people, has been caught liking tweets praising Enoch Powell.

I very much doubt it. If the Tories want to win in the mayoral election they need to put up someone extremely charismatic and/or with centre politics.

I think you will be surprised at how many are swayed by racist views on immigration and the like. All Tories are worried about it and about half of Labour. Never forget the Secret Tory.

I wouldn’t be surprised if she gets voted in. Every accusation of racism will just get countered with “look at the PM”.

Why are there no campaigns on the front of newspapers about the epidemic within the Tory party? Revelations of this nature are not exactly surprising or irregular

Having a few black and other ethnic minorities within the party doesn't mean no problem exists, and that attempts to address it are inadequate. Have to wonder how much goes unreported

Bizarre defence, and it gets worse. She goes round saying or liking horrible things about all sorts of people and can't remember or excuses all of it.

I'm not sure it should work but surely she should be able to realise her best line of defence is simply "sorry", without any excuses and acknowledging the offence. I don't understand why her social media accounts haven't been checked before selection, either. If they were and this is the least offensive, I think the failing candidates accounts deserve attention

The (few) London Tory MPs and other Tory members of the London assembly didn't want her as the Tory Mayoral candidate.

They think she has been chosen because the Tory government doesn't want a Tory Mayor.

Why on earth wouldn't they? It undoubtedly helped Johnson, I expect it will help Khan in the longer term as well. Livingstone is the only person who hasn't benefitted longer term

She is shockingly inarticulate...I've seen several interviews with her and she seems to be barely able to string a sentence together.

For a Tory to win the majoral election they need someone who is fairly middle of the road. She will hoover up some votes thanks to ulez but I doubt it will be enough.
