Daughters hair breaking at the back

My 3yo DDs hair has broken really short at the back of her head. It is the area where her head is on her pillow at night and where she leans on the sofa/beanbags. I have bought bonnets for her to wear at night and tried to get her excited about wearing one like I do, but she keeps taking them off and says she doesn't like it. Perhaps too young to understand. We use a lot of moisturiser and her hair feels nice and soft. so not sure what I'm doing wrong? Her hair is a looser curl than mine (about 3a; I am 3c/4b) we're both mixed-race. Any advice would be appreciated!

I used silk pillowcases when my daughter was too young to keep headscarves and bonnets on

I'll give that a try - thank you
