Dandruff and braids?

Anti dandruff treatment that isn't shampoo.... Does such thing exist? I have very tight afro hair and have always suffered with dandruff. Because I have my hair braided it really isn't possible to wash every day with anti dandruff shampoo. When I have it out of braids if I wash it with anti dandruff shampoo as regularly as needed my hair looks and feels awful from washing so much. Has anyone had dandruff and braids and managed to tackle it?

Not dandruff as such, but a dry scalp sometimes, when wearing braids. Have you tried a light oil such as grapeseed oil, or sweet almond oil, and applying that to your scalp between the braids. It may help with the flaking.

Do you know if dandraf or psoriasis? Try and not use coconut oil, I find the more I use it the more dandraft I get. Also, wash the braids before using it to avoid reactions on your scalp.n

I find washing with shikakai is really helpful. It's a traditional ayurverdic powder for shampoo. Betnovate scalp application is good for in between washes.
