Just hearing this now on the radio.

The Palace hasn't disputed it.

www.lbc.co.uk/news/queen-consort-camilla-buckingham-palace-women-violence-guest-racial-heritage/

A member of the Buckingham Palace household has resigned and apologised after the 'unacceptable and regrettable comments' made at the Queen Consort's reception.

It comes after a guest at a Buckingham Palace event on violence against women hosted by the Queen Consort complained she was asked several questions about her racial heritage that she found “insulting.”

Ngozi Fulani, CEO of Hackney Charity Sistah Space, a group that supports African and Caribbean women affected by domestic and sexual abuse, said she had suffered “trauma” and “damage” after being “invited and then insulted” to the event.

She said a member of Palace staff moved her hair out of the way of her name badge before asking her questions about her heritage that left her “shocked”.

She said two other women who overheard the exchange were also “stunned to temporary silence.”

She said: “10 mins after arriving, a member of staff approached me, moved my hair to see my name badge.”

Her charity is being investigated for fraud that is the true reason she has shut down her company.

She also won't offer assistance to mixed race victims, which is actually illegal for a charity to do. Her staff have also turned up at the home of the said mixed race victim. As that victim is now highlighting the injustice she has received from the charity online and drawing negative attention to the "charity" they have started harassing her at her home - she has taken photos of those women harassing her from Ngozi's charity.

cyrila · 12/12/2022 10:58

If it's true that they won't offer assistance to mixed race women that's really shocking.

HaveYouSeenNancy · 12/12/2022 11:03

The mixed race woman posted her own twitter thread, highlighting the hypocrisy of Sistah Space for asking her for a breakdown of her ethnicity when she asked them for help. Then they wouldn't help her. Ngozi must wish she hadn't done the media rounds.

Has anyone seen Nana Akua’s view on this? It’s quite interesting!

The implication being that it wouldn’t be shocking if they refused assistance to a woman without any black heritage??

cyrila · 12/12/2022 11:45

Palmfrond no I didn't mean that, I expressed myself badly. I would expect them to help any woman in need, regardless of ethnicity or colour. And that's how it should be.

TooBigForMyBoots · 12/12/2022 12:02

The real reason Sistah Space has had to pause operations: www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2022/12/10/ngozi-fulanis-charity-sistah-space-halts-work-safety-concerns/

I hope Fulani and the staff and clients of Sistah Space are OK.💞

Is that yer woman off GB "News"?

youcantry · 12/12/2022 12:30

@Namechangedforthisonetoday totally agree. My ExH (still friends) does not have an English bone in his body, he wasn't born here, neither were both his parents or grandparents, but he's never experienced racism because......he's white! Whereas my friends and family who are second, third or fourth generation English have to experience it just because of their skin colour. Makes my blood boil. My daughters boyfriend is mixed race and has experienced racism. I could cry for him. He is English as are his parents. My friend was worried about moving to kent from London as her kids are mixed race, all born here, as are my friend and her husband. It's appalling that this is still happening. Thankfully my friend and her family did move to Kent and have had a positive experience.

My my understanding is they connect those who couldn't get help with other organisations.

At the moment, I would take everything with a pinch of salt. When the news started, many people requested others on Twitter to call and report her to be investigated just for the fun of it. The threads are there on Twitter. This was about a week ago.

youcantry · 12/12/2022 12:40

I hope all the women needing help are able to access it, sadly, I doubt it 😢

Very interesting reading, possibly enlightening for some.

It’s not interesting or enlightening tbh... some parts are untrue, they are in fact using an accountant for example.

Their financial reports are like all not for profit or charities available online there’s also lots of other information about them.

It shouldn’t be hugely surprising that admin costs have risen when their income has gone from 50k to 367k in one year.

And, things like being in operation before registering is fairly common on the third sector, people start doing something, realise they could do more and it changes from just a group of people looking to change something into an actual organisation.

I’d give him the benefit of the doubt and assume he just doesn’t understand the third sector or financial reports.... but I’ve seen similar but different wrong takes about their finances on social media, so when it’s multiple people spreading slightly different disinformation it does start to look like the motive isn’t what they say it is.

Palmfrond · 12/12/2022 13:20

@youcantry “My ExH (still friends) does not have an English bone in his body, he wasn't born here, neither were both his parents or grandparents, but he's never experienced racism because......he's white”

He’s possibly also not waiting to be offended by innocent questions about his background? I’ve been asked where my name is from all my life. I’ve always taken it as curiosity and answer accordingly. It’s not some big secret that I’ve got an unusual name.
And no, I’m not a racism denier, but I do believe that Ms. Fulani has misread the public perception of where the boundaries of offence and outrage should be drawn, and I think it’s a problem across society where we live in echo chambers fuelled by sensationalist media.

Palmfrond · 12/12/2022 13:25

@tabulahrasa I agree it’s not interesting reading but you can be sure that person’s motives are not wholesome. Besides which if you look at any charity’s finances you can put a nefarious spin on them because people forget how much these enterprises cost to run.

Gave himself away a bit with the use of the racists’ favourite joke about Diane Abbott.

Oh I’m pretty sure they’re not wholesome, but I was pre-empting the, well I’m sure it’s just a misunderstanding by pointing out that it’s multiple similar but not identical bad takes and misinformation about the same thing that’s being spread.

And the link to Nigel Farage.🙄 @ForeverFaithless why have you posted a link to this skanky, racist, scumbag's twitter? Do you know him?

Delectable · 12/12/2022 14:06

Someone with deep pockets, time and to whom discrediting Ngozi Fulani is mighty important has commissioned the most indept audit of everything and everyone connected to Sista Space.

If Harry had to leave the wealthiest, most famous and powerful RF in the world to protect his wife I'm not surprised SS will have a tough time existing in the same country.

Diana left and look what happened to her?

TooBigForMyBoots · 12/12/2022 14:17

One of racist Lady Hussey's jobs was to help MM acclimatise to being in the RF. Its no wonder they left. www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-11494641/amp/Lady-Susan-Hussey-warned-Meghan-Markle-Prince-Harrys-marriage-end-tears.html

HaveYouSeenNancy · 12/12/2022 14:19

The person who dedicated all that time to discrediting Ngozi Fulani has, unfortunately, been able to link to his sources. All of the information is available on the internet - they didn't have any special access; just time to search for it and collate the info. Do you think they've made it up?

TooBigForMyBoots · 12/12/2022 14:26

I think the racist wee neckbeard has curated information and narrated it to discredit Ngozi Fulani for having the temerity to call out the racism she experienced.

Plus already gave a reply about "Not leaving records"

Well yes, some of it is made up tbh - very easy to see as yes, anyone can access the same information.

The rest is all very strange interpretations of perfectly normal things trying to make it look like something nefarious is going on.

The whole - the admin costs have risen and don’t match anything else nonsense, of course they’ve risen, their income is absolutely huge compared to their first filing.

They've raised a lot of money and starting doing lots of things in a pretty short period of time - of course their outgoings have also gone up.

Bobbins36 · 12/12/2022 18:10

This is pretty damning stuff if true. All charities should be rigorously vetted imo
