Just seen the Woman King and it was great. A lot of negative propaganda surrounding the film which did feature the slave trade (not the main thing) and portrayed it in a negative light as it was.

Im not sure if I'll see it or not. Misinformation on that level is a bit much for me. If I was in 'just want to watch a Hollywood blockbuster' mode I'd maybe go for it but I doubt it tbh. Glad you enjoyed

I haven’t seen it yet either but I probably will. The complaints around it are just 🙄. All of sudden white people care about “historical accuracy” but of course they just want to use it as justification for their racism and deflect from the past and present evil actions they perpetuate.

Not a dig at anyone but Its odd because there are many movies made about colonialism and slavery that often even try to humanize white slave owners or films that glorify british colonuwl conquests but people still see them
