Yes it was amazing that the Olympic committee finally accepted the use of the different swim cap 👍
What I don't understand is why would it be banned in the first place?! 🤨 in no way does it look to me like it helps with a swimmer becoming more hydrodynamic..... the smaller the cap area, the less resistance the swimmer will have under the water. The big hair and big cap would actually be a (super minor but still....) disadvantage to the swimmer. The fastest things on water (and air) are pointy not bulbous.
I mean my fluid dynamics could do with a good brush up, but am I missing something?.... just let people be comfortable! (Without giving an unfair advantage)
