Black women at the World Athletics Championships

Can we take a moment to talk about the brilliant Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce? World champion in the 100m for the 5th time at age 35. She won the gold at the Beijing Olympics an incredible 14 years ago! She's had a baby since and she's still winning!

Then there's Shericka Jackson who won the 200m in the second-fastest time ever recorded. Could Flo-Jo's world record that's stood for longer than Shericka's been alive finally be under threat?

And finally what more can be said about Allyson Felix, who's bowing out after a career of almost 20 years with 11 Olympic medals and at least 19 World Championship ones? I say at least because there's a good chance she may win another in the relays this weekend. And off the track she's taken on Nike for their lack of a decent maternity policy and nearly died in childbirth. Yet she came back after that and won more gold. Incredible woman!

All magnificent athletes -and our own Dina Asher-Smith

We are big athletics fans, and huge Dina fans. Was lovely to see them being interviewed together after the 200m

We have seen them all run at events and lucky enough to have tickets for the Commonwealth Games.

SAFP was overshadowed by Usain Bolt for a long time but she's actually surpassed him in terms of longevity so should be up there on the GOAT pedestal!

I sometimes think female track competitors haven't gotten as much attention as the men because the men break world records whereas they haven't been able to (until now) come close to the drug-assisted women's world records.

SAFP is inspirational! It’s amazing to hear her admit that she’s still hungry - after all those titles!

I think the loss to Elaine at the Olympics fired her up some more.

Don’t forget Elaine - the games weren’t the success hoped for after last season but she got a bronze and she’ll come back.

Very happy for Dina too - true grit and determination. Wears her heart on her sleeve so it’s nice to see her happy.

Post match clip with SAFP, Shericka and Dina and the Jamaican ladies announce that this is the Jamaican 1-2-3 ‘cause Dina ah wi cousin’😂

SAFP to Dina - ‘ah yu madda or yu fadda ah Jamaican?’

Dina - ‘both’
