Can we take a moment to talk about the brilliant Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce? World champion in the 100m for the 5th time at age 35. She won the gold at the Beijing Olympics an incredible 14 years ago! She's had a baby since and she's still winning!
Then there's Shericka Jackson who won the 200m in the second-fastest time ever recorded. Could Flo-Jo's world record that's stood for longer than Shericka's been alive finally be under threat?
And finally what more can be said about Allyson Felix, who's bowing out after a career of almost 20 years with 11 Olympic medals and at least 19 World Championship ones? I say at least because there's a good chance she may win another in the relays this weekend. And off the track she's taken on Nike for their lack of a decent maternity policy and nearly died in childbirth. Yet she came back after that and won more gold. Incredible woman!
