Anyone know what it’s like to live in Brentwood?

How are the schools?
How easy is it to get African groceries/takeout ?
Do I need a car to get around?

It depends how close you live to the high street. There are a few outstanding primary schools (mainly the c of e ones) appears alot are 'good'. Groceries I doubt it. You would probably have to head into harold hill, hornchurch or romford for the 1 or 2 shops that sell produce there. I wouldn't choose to live there due to the lack of diversity.

I have friends who have lived there for over decade and they love it. We live the vibes we get everything we visit and it's somewhere I would consider if o could afford it. Transport links are very good and schools are good. They get nigerian food delivered and aren't too far from Basildon, Grays and Romford where they can get good food.

Went to visit with DH as we are also potentially considering moving there and was pleasantly surprised to see more black people than I had expected. From our experience, this changes the further out you go (eg Billericay etc)

Visited a friend there a few days ago. She's happy with the schools her three kids attend but might move to Chelmsford later in the year for her son's school.

Hi,
We're also considering Brentwood for our move out of Tottenham. The primary schools look great but wondering what people think of the secondary school options? Do DCs commute to grammars in Chelmsford? Or to the Ofsted outstanding state schools in Ilford?
Thanks for any tips!🙂
