Winchester vs Guildford/Woking

There are quite a few threads about suitable areas for mixed couples. I’ve recently secured work in Basingstoke (which is hard to come buy in this post-covid era hence cannot be too picky in terms of area). My husband works part-time but also does a PhD in Royal Holloway. We are considering potential areas. We have narrowed it down to Guildford/Woking or even Winchester. Anyone have any experience or alternative areas?

I’m already aware that Reading is a good option but really interested in views about other areas.
