New mum to area

I've recently moved to a new area, it's further away from London where my family and friends live. I haven't had to make new friends in a very long time and feel really out of touch. I really want to make new friends within my local area as I feel it will be beneficial to both myself and son especially mum friends with toddlers a similar age to my son. somehow since lockdown I seem to of lost my friendship skills and not sure where to start. I really don't want to feel alone in my new area and would really like to make local friends, any tips ?

I'm following this - I'm still in London but a lot of friends have moved out for property/kids/work so I'm really wanting to expand my social circle. No kids here so I can't comment on mum friends, but have you seen Black Girls Hike? They have walks going on all over the UK so you can meet different people. I've been to one and loved it and plan on going back and committing to going regularly so I can build friendships.

Would church be an option as well? I'm also planning on getting back to church and specifically looking for ones with small groups and lots of social events.

Second, any activities that you love, that way you already have much in common.
