My children are both interested in Modelling. I know that it is very competitive. Do any of you ‘black mumnetters’ have any advice, or have experience in this field, good or bad?

How old are they? What is it that make them want to model? What are your feelings on this? Have you encouraged/ discouraged?

My Dd is 15(16 in Nov) and my Dd is 13. My dd as she like clothes and fashion. My ds likes clothes as well especially sports clothes and he would like to model for Sports Direct. I would want them to get an education, go to college etc... It’s a big if, they got into a good Modelling Agency and not a dodgy one! I am open minded to the idea and l know a lot of children and parents get disappointed in the end, if they don’t get chosen. It would be interesting to find out from a parent, how they got their child/children into a good modelling agency.

I know that if it's a top agency then your child won't be expected to pay for photos for a portfolio.
May be worth asking this question in Style and Beauty.

Thank you for that. I will go and look in Style and Beauty.
