Hi All,
There have been a few threads about places to live as a black person. Has anyone suggestions on the best towns around London with a good mixed vibe. I literally can’t do London prices so looking for the genuinely diverse commuter towns/cities to London

Reading is pretty diverse. Not quite like London but almost.

It's so sad that as black people we feel there are places we can't live in our own country. I've had the same dilemma. It's horrible we have to fear for our safety or that we will be poorly treated.

I'm sick of it. We're going to have to make parts of this country more diverse by moving to places that are less diverse and changing it.

It's time we made the countryside a place for black people too. We shouldn't have to be confined to cities where costs of living force us into substandard housing and lack of fresh air that affects our health.

I've had enough and I'm moving somewhere where the population is mostly white.

Sorry OP, I've been no help to you, but just wanted to rant!

Southampton (Hampshire)

All the places with a university e.g. Reading, Brighton, Southampton, Milton Keynes.

Then some of the smaller towns in the Home Counties e.g. Rickmansworth, Redhill, Swanley, Dartford.

Just be careful though as some places while you won't stand out, you won't like the vibe.

Thanks for the suggestions! Yes it is a sad topic that we have to consider but very real. I also agree that university towns is the the way to go and very much like the sound of Reading!
