Hi all, as the title says really... haven’t seen many - been checking out the area, do any exist? Is it a nice mixed area for ethnically diverse families? Specially referring to LS. Are you happy with the schools Telford infants etc. Heard some accounts the secondary (North Leamington) racist. Has this been anyone’s experience?

Finding it somewhat alarming 9/10 of the black people I’ve come across seem to be... marginalised shall we say.... Feel free to PM.
Hoping some of you are out there!

Huge thanks for any input

are you being serious?

Hi, OP.

Marginalised is what way?

1940s · 25/04/2021 17:34

Marginalised? Can you explain?

BlackIsBlackIsBlack · 26/04/2021 12:33

Roseytree, why start a post if, when asked, you can't be bothered to explain its content?

Sorry, but it's v frustrating!

Shepherdstub123 · 26/04/2021 14:04

Why are you frustrated? Unless you don’t know know what marginalised means, in which case Google is your friend; I fail to see the issue. OP asked a question about the area for black mothers, you’re all coming across as bullies! Why must OP justify her opinion? Either give yours or move on. If you are from Leamington Spa, I would say you’re all proving the point made.

OP I have friends who used to live near Leamington, some parts are iffy, some aren’t. I will PM you with info I have, as you have very reasonably requested.
The rest of you, do grow up!

Please don't accuse me of being a bully when I asked the OP to elaborate. Yes, I understand what marginalised means, but I was wanting to know it what way.

My son has been offered a prospective job move over that way, so I was actually interested, too!

Hi I came across this thread 4 years too late but it is very relevant nevertheless.
I have recently moved to Leamington Spa with my 3 children. I am a black/mixed race lady and my kids are noticeably mixed race too. Literally 1 month into my son's school experience and he has experienced racial abuse a number of times. I'm from Leeds and it was never a thing there. My son is 8 years old and never had to face any of this BS, so the original question is very relevant.
To the white folk who will never understand, don't get all uptight when such questions are posed or when people share there concerns.
There is no doubt that Leamington is a beautiful town but we are looking for a more multicultural area to live, or at least a school which is more ethnically and culturally diverse. I grew up in a very white area in the North East and believe me when I say, kids especially are affected deeply by racism which has a lasting impact. I know I'm responding very late to this post but if anyone has any info on nice schools in and around Warwickshire, I'll move if I have to.
Many thanks x
