The Home Office is always at it. I'm not remotely surprised. A lot of this has been happening for years to non-EU immigrants, the selective application of their rights, long expensive visa routes, denying children British citizenship, splitting up familie and saying they can parent remotely or meet in a mutual 3rd country, income restrictions, denying applications because of a school fight at age 10 and thereby failing the good character test, excluding people entitled to benefits from help, a two-tier system for British children with a non-EU parent and making it difficult for them to access anything they are entitled to, but people are only aware (and care) now as it has started to affect EU citizens. No matter what the HO promises they will continue down their path of making it as difficult as possible for anyone to stay here.
