How do you handle this? D.C. is 2.5 yrs old. I'm super gentle with her hair and sometimes if she's sufficiently distracted she's fine. Other times she'll scream bloody murder. I'll stop immediately when she does. But every wash day is a battle.

I use detangler - tried every type of conditioner with slip. Sometimes we get through it without too much crying but other times it takes so long and my back aches from going small section by section.

Anyway tonight I thought I'd sneak in and do her hair while she's a sleep. But it's clearly still uncomfortable as she kept turning hair head away while asleep. Can't win really

Anyway else have this problem and have a solution?

Hi, op.

I used to (and still do, mostly) plait my daughter's hair. The style would last for a week, by which time, I would unplait, wash, dry, grease, and replait. It meant that I was only touching her hair a week at a time.

When I was plaiting, she'd do some colouring out of her favourite dolly book. And afterwards, she'd choose out of an array of really pretty hair grips (both of which I'd bought and reserved for the occasion).

Disclaimer: she had a lot of colouring books/hair grips..but these were the 'special' ones, you see Smile
