Churches with large black community

Dear All,

Had absolutely no idea this corner of mumsnet existed, so posted in wrong place before.

Just wondering, my preference is Catholic (actually for schools as children are christened Catholic) but to be honest, we just want a lovely church, can be Catholic, Church of England, Baptist ( Maybe not a big evangelical church, not for any reason other than it makes sense to go to a church that the schools will recognise, I'm just being efficient, no slight at all). I just want to go back to church though, I've missed it over lockdown and moved West London so my old church is too far now (Sacred Heart, Camberwell).

Does anyone have any SW, W or NW London recommendations for me?

is St John the Divine on Vassall Road near you? Lovely big church amazing choir and welcoming.
i randomly stopped in one sunday morning. if nearby it would meet your criteria.

I've taken a look, although I know it is not in the right area for us. Kennington is technically SW9, but also SE11 and SE17, so more south than the kind of SW we are looking for. We used to live by there. Looks like a great church, though!

We are now north of the river, but Fulham etc would be ok, as would going out West to Ealing or thereabouts, or indeed more north to NW like Kensal Green, Willesden. We are based in Hammersmith.

Watching this with interest. I used to be an occasional goer in my hometown but I’d like to find a London church in SW, especially one with a big community. Nothing which is going to be too fire and brimstone. Vassall Road is doable for me so I will investigate, thanks

PHC Wandsworth ploughroad is lovely maybe not completely what you are looking for. But the atmosphere is really lovely.
