Black Catholics in the UK

Interesting video from 4 Black Catholics, their thoughts and experiences, introduced by Cardinal Nicholls. The Catholic Church is so universal and diverse, its very likely we will soon have a Pope from an African nation, yet that can go unacknowledged in the UK.

Very interesting video. Watched with an open heart (as advised).
5.54 minutes - absolutely this!
Saddened that young black people can't feel at home at church. Surely you should be able to go to any church anywhere in the world and be in God's house. But I have also seen unwelcome attitudes in church.
Neither black or Catholic (Church of England). I love my new church as it is very diverse. Moved from a quiet, traditional church to one that has a few hundred members from all backgrounds.
I went to an evening with my church and one of the guest speakers was a black priest. She told us how people asked if she was actually ordained (because of being a black female) and how she'd dabbled in dark things. After the talk, I got talking to her, because I'd also dabbled in dark stuff and wanted to thank her for being so honest about it all. She was great to talk to. Give me someone like that any day that I can talk honestly about faith with and get rid of this narrow minded attitude within the church.
