Locs Advice Needed

I've long admired locs and while on furlough started with 2 strand twists. Now approx 4 months in, I've jusy got back into work and feel like my hair is a right mess! I tried palm rolling on forst retwist but my hair is quite soft and it unravelled quite quickly so since then I've interlocked twice with better results but its still quite fluffy and frizzy.

Is this normal? Do I persevere or comb out and try again?

Persevere! They all go through a fuzzy stage. Depending on hair texture, some people have naturally fluffier locs but in my experience, for most people it settles down after about a year give or take

Would you consider going to a loctitian a few times? I get my locs twisted every 6-8 weeks and in the early days it was more like every 4 weeks to train the hair.

Thanks for your replies, I will try to be more patient, I'm not very patient Grin and I'll look out for a nearby loctician too. I think I've just been put off because of Covid, I haven't been to the hairdressers since probably March, but its a good shout, thanks.

I would persevere. I did two strand twist locs and the only time mine unravelled a bit was in water.

I'm 2.5 years in and I don't regret it...just wish I did it sooner.

Thanks for the motivation @SandyY2K I'll keep going. What kind of products do you use in your hair? I've been spraying mine with Rosewater and Vitamin E and running some Castor Oil through my scalp.

I have recently started using these and I also use Aussie leave in conditioner.

Ooh I loved them for my natural loose hair but thought they might be a but too rich for locs, I've still got some left, I'll hunt them out!
