Great news that you are getting another scan tomorrow cho. Cyst theory sounds plausible to me (disclaimer: I know nothing concrete BUT...) I had a kinda of burny pain on the left for a few days that I also thought might be cysty (forgive the adjective) but nothing was ever spotted on scans either and it went away - so I forgot about it and it hasn't come back.

Let us know how you get on. Always nice to get to have a good gawk at baby anyway!

SomethingSuitablyWitty · 21/07/2010 17:51

Hurrah for connectedness on trains! How cool is that!

Muser · 21/07/2010 18:29

I have a pain in my right side right now that had me wincing as I walked. Feels like a stitch. I've decided it probably is.

Good news on the scan cluckykate.

Cho I hope mystery pain resolves itself.

SkiHorseWonAWean · 21/07/2010 18:58

VAG I'm so sorry to hear your news. Have strength for the weekend ahead.

cho I think it's all in the scope of "normal". I took a week off work at 17 weeks because of "pains" in my abdomen - the best explanation I could ever get was ligaments - but I remember being surprised at generally how painful pregnancy was... which heightened my scepticism wrt those who claim they didn't know.

iggy curry, shag & spunk cocktail for dinner then? Or bouncing on your birthing ball wearing a breastpump and inhaling essential oils a la carrots?

OkieCokie · 21/07/2010 19:22

A friend of mine swears rubbing clary sage into your tum tum gets things moving iggs. I did try it myself and sure enought the day after it all kicked off. Could have been coincidence but hey...

rollerbaby · 21/07/2010 19:36

Chocho hopefully it's a ligament or something like that... if you just had a scan then it's unlikely to be anything sinister I would guess.

I am officially a knob. I ran up all of the escalators at Oxford Street tube station this morning - cos I was feeling grrrrreat this morning and thought I could do with the exercise.

As a result I seem to have pulled muscles in my both sides of groin all the way under. I have been walking like John Wayne all day and is getting stiffer and stiffer. For Fuck's Sake!!!

So advice to anyone with growing bumps - don't exert your weakened muscles too much unless you're Paula Radcliffe and therefore used to it.

OkieCokie · 21/07/2010 19:39

nobber/knobber moo

Muser · 21/07/2010 19:44

VAG sorry to hear your news. Agree with what everyone else said to wait and see.

CluckyKate · 21/07/2010 20:31

Hope the scan identifies the problem ChoCho....or at least rules out anything sinister.
Am bang on 12 weeks today, which makes me due 2nd Feb - so, if we're not EDD sisters we're pretty close. Here's to an uneventful 28 weeks < chink >

Medee · 21/07/2010 20:52

ski I'm with you on that; I can't help but notice my symptoms and they aren't particularly strong ones yet - how is it possible not to know one is pregnant?

SilverSky · 21/07/2010 22:22

vag horrid news. See how you go and then decide.

henpeckedKate congrats !

Have v v v long day at work. Not helped b. The 4am o'clock alarm call aka needing a whizz. Well that was I then wasn't it. Wide a-fricking awake! Total balls. Him Indoors suggested next time I can't sleep to get up and "potter" about. He means do chores. Well he can shove that recommendation up his jacksy.

HorseyChicks - not sure why Him Indoors so adamant the pony stays put. Couple of pals at the yard have offered to help out when baybee first arrives. Others have told me having pony will be my saving grace as theirs were. But I am not a total tit in that I am ignorant enough to think that it will all just work out. .

iggy whoop whoop ! Bring on the baybee !!! Wot snacks haz you in your hossie bag.

rollerbaby · 21/07/2010 23:34

Fucking disaster to end a fucking bad day.

Dog had shits this evening. Weed on carpet for good measure And had to wash his pooey bum. A two man job I might add.

Then in packing my gym bag for posh spa day at grove tomorrow with mum and sil, I discover the fuckers at john lewis have sold me the top only for my maternity tankini 2 piece. Argggghhhhhh.

What would you do? Wear a bikini that makes you look like a fat wag wannabe or a swimsuit that barely fits/covers boobs. Someone in john lewis is going to cry after I go in there.

rollerbaby · 21/07/2010 23:35

A fat wag wannabe that waddles like john Wayne I might add.

SkiHorseWonAWean · 22/07/2010 04:11

Well honey, there was a thread not too long ago about the lady who went to the pool and in an advance state of pregnancy brain removed her bottoms before getting in - so if I were you I'd just get my minge out - the whole world will see it soon enough anyway.

In true NoTW style "Dog with shits made my baybee breech".

SilverSky · 22/07/2010 06:53

Oh honeypie what an arse. Heads will roll. Can you wear the top and use some bottoms you aleady have? The Grove is mega toff resort ya?

Had fallout with Him Indoors last night. Reason? Cos we could hear (whilst we were in our lounge) our next door neighbour getting jiggy. Repetitive banging of the headboard on the wall. Initially, not bothered but then it wouldn't stop so I said I was going to bang on the wall. Him Indoors retorted "she's allowed a life" so I replied " she is but I don't need to hear her life!" and so after further words I storm off to bed in a rage. Grrrrrrrr.

Ps can you tell I am over tired?

Backinthebox · 22/07/2010 08:48

Need a bit of a catch up here!

VAG sorry about your news. Nothing to add except to wait and see. I didn't do NCT, but as far as I can tell the big advantage is for 'afterwards.' I was a classy chick who hung out in Costa Coffee afterwards with random other women with babies.

Honey can you not in an emergency just buy some really huge bikini shorts to go with the top you have? All of the supermarkets have summer clothes sales on atm. I tell you, nothing would come between me and a spa day, not even something as small as a lack of bikini bottoms!

Silver the woman at your yard are right in that it IS indeed a lovely escape to be able to come down and see the gee-gee. But you need HELP with them too. By that, I mean someone there who can do your horse to YOUR standard every day for about 3 months. If you are feeling flush for cash you can pay for this. (I was feeling very flush last time - but then I was just leaving the world of 'no kids and full time income!') Alternatively you can get in a friend to help, but that friend MUST realise that they must be reliable - you cannot be dropped in it at short notice, would be very stressful to have to decide who needed you more urgently - child or horse. Final oprion is, as you mentioned, short term loan(or paying sharer) to stay at own yard. You lose a little bit of control but gain a whole lot more freedom and you don't have to worry about the bills for a little while. I have a fabulous helper outer - ma Jennie! - but I don't ask for any money from her. She does everything, and is happy with the situation that she plays ponies whenever she wants and I get a fit horse well looked after for me to ride when I have the time. Lots and lots of options for you to consider, but please don't try to do it all by yourself! BTW I will help you keep horsey at the end - I will be hunting in the car in Sept/Oct - I'll bounce you around a bit

Ski were you asking here or somewhere else about horsey osteos? Sounds like she'd be worth a try. I have all my horses checked and rubbed once a year by an equine physio, and it's more that she knows the horses and will spot a difference than what kind of back work that she does. My osteo re-positioned a rib for me yesterday, out due to sleeping on one side with a floppy arm. Bliss! my back works again!

Cho I had really bad pulling pains with both pregnancies - was just my super-taut muscles and ligaments stretching (tries to pretend I was ever super-taut ) Try not to worry - you get all sorts of weird and wonderful and not-so-wonderful senstations when you are pregnant.

Clucky quick congrats! I'll call you tonight.

CluckyKate · 22/07/2010 09:05

Silvio - is turning the pone away for a bit an option??? That's wot I is going to do....give her a nice 3-4 month holiday . I was lucky last time (or slightly bats) in that the horse foaled 3 months before I did so was able to live out in a field over the critical period & weaned just in time for me to hop back on....worked really well as she was just as unfit as me too. Was a bit jealous that she got her figure back much quicker tho - still working on mine.

If you can find a good one then consulting an Osteo sounds like a good idea Ski. A couple from my NCT group are equine-Osteos, specialising in racehorses (he's ex-jockey, tho you wouldn't know it at the size of him - National Hunt I think) and are regularly flown out to Dubai to work on the Sheik's horses so there must be some thing in it. I use a Chiro on dobbin - her pelvis was slightly out after massive foal & horrible birth which he fixed so big thumbs-up from me.

Box - will pop in to pick up DD's coat (left at last visit) on way back from stables if that's OK. Any news on the Big Hoss...does he like his new home???

iggypiggy · 22/07/2010 09:36

Just a v quick update to tell you lot that I haz no news... Am mostly made up of hormones today and will probably cause injury/ cry at the next person that asks if I have any news

more later.

PerfectDromedary · 22/07/2010 09:48

Poor iggles.

FannyPriceless · 22/07/2010 10:09

iggs Here's wishing you a day of having your mind taken off the, er, pressing subject. Perhaps lose yourself in a wild page-turning novel? Beat your high score on Flight of the Hamsters?

VAG I actually did find the content of the NCT course incredibly helpful. Although we've made two good sets of friends from the class, I was initially a little disappointed at the promises of lifelong super-deep friendships spouted by everyone who said that's why you need to do the classes.

honey I have been known to wear a pair of mens Hawaiian beach shorts with a tankini top. But you are way to classy for that.

FannyPriceless · 22/07/2010 10:19

For those with pains in their sides ( cho, muse, etc) yes it's true that you get all sorts of weird pains when preggers, and that is the most likely explanation. But that's what I was repeatedly told during my first pg when I kept getting these double over, clutching my side and screaming, stabbing-type pains.

6 months later I was rushed to hossie for an emergency appendecetomy whereupon they discovered that my appendix was adhered to another part of my stomach. We don't know how long it had been like that, but there's a fair chance it was like that while I was pg. In the words of the surgeon, this would have caused 'considerable pain' in a pg woman. You're telling me!

So the moral is, yes, it's most likely ligament or other pg pains. But that doesn't mean they should rule out investigating other causes if it continues to be a problem.

Ah vag sorry to hear about your Grandma.

Curry & nipple tweaks for iggs

SkaterGrrrrl · 22/07/2010 12:03

Have been glued to the Facebook/ Dr Pepper/ Sex thread and neglecting the Pregnancy folder!

I hope you are okay. I am finding every NCT class invaluable and wouldnt want to skip any - but I havent lost a LO. Up to you really. I have missed relative's weddings while pregnant because I couldnt face travelling. People were really understanding.

Honeymoo I hope you have a better day today!

No baby news to report. Am vast and happy.

SkaterGrrrrl · 22/07/2010 12:04

Oh yes - Iggles / pregnant women feeling weepy, do not watch the Time Travellers Wife. I shit you not.

Backinthebox · 22/07/2010 12:58

Don't watch it Skates? Have you read it? Even sadder! Other book not to read when hormonal (but is just fabulous) is The Book Thief. Nearly wailing by the end!

Cluck oh yes - your coat. DD has been pointing it out to me all week Call before you set off - am going to play on water slides this afternoon . Big horse is very VERY happy but possibly needing rehab for Polo addiction. Will tell you about it later!

Iggy just try not to think about it if you can. Stupid thing to say, I know, but if you have something else to absorb you for a while it really will make the time go quicker. I painted the bathroom the day my contractions started
