cossie how many weeks are thee? I was hoping my bb would stay flat! However I am thinking protuding bb will take away focus from nork city with raspberries rising. Tis no fun.

SkiHorseWonAWean · 20/07/2010 20:07

muser I'm a bit more with it than I was earlier. The ms did pass to the extent that the 24/7 nauseous & helplessness passed at around week 14 (?). But yes, I continued to puke almost daily for the entire pregnancy... I puked the day I had him and I puked in the operating room once he was out. I slept, slept and slept some more - cleaning up cat shit? I was barely capable of wiping my own arse at first. I would have to sit down on the edge of my bath to brush my hair because it took too much out of me. After a shower I'd need a 10 minute sit down and rest, same after getting dressed. Talking to my manager meant that I was "excused" from early mornings. I was on a big project at the time which was mostly being conducted in another building which was probably only 800m (?) away from my own but I simply couldn't get there... as lame as that sounds. I did get some shit from the PM about that but wtf - doesn't matter, my health was/IS more important. I ate. I would frequently wake at 3/4am and have some weetabix. A glass of orange juice also helped a great deal. I'd have a second breakfast when I got to work - I'd have to have a glass of juice or a banana before the drive. It did get better though, yes, I still puked but it was just puking - very rarely did I feel totally knocked for six. I went to the doctor at 13 weeks and should not have tried to brave it out - I was prescribed Cyclizine - AMAZING stuff! It's a drug which was originally designed to combat seasickness in differs - has been around since the stone age and doesn't kill baybees... it's the only thing the Dutch will prescribe. Fuck travel bands, fuck ginger - and kick anyone in the cunt who says " have you tried ginger tea?" pricks and cunts the lot of them.

My bb never popped and I didn't get any (new) stretchmarks.

Muser · 20/07/2010 20:13

You are definite DHB ski I am in awe.

I haven't quite found any food that doesn't make me feel worse first thing. I shall keep searching. And if it continues to be bad I will tell my manager and try to get more mornings working at home.

OkieCokie · 20/07/2010 20:38

Bagel with peanut butter, vegemite/marmite seemed to help me in the morning Muse and I totally know where ski is coming having to have a rest after exerting in any way (a rest after showering, getting dressed the lot) and she has some good advice there. Hopefully you will feel a renewed energy at 12 weeks which is generally the magic marker although I am sure that seems moons away!

Moo you crack me up. I actually go for a Brazilian about every 6 weeks but thinking now I should have a break due to the boil, although than means double the pain to restart! And what the fuck were you doing with a DIY kit you loon!

Iggs any baybeee yet??
Box tell the cow polietly to fuck off and submit you application anyway.

SilverSky · 20/07/2010 20:43

muse case of trial and error. You'll find something. I fel sick but never puked. I woke up feeling sick, spent the day feeling sick (short reprieves after eating forabout 30mins) came home feeling sick and went to bed feeling sick.

In between feeling sick I would often feel dizzy. Would spend shed loads of time in the loos at work sitting on the loo leaning against the wall wondering how the fricking hell I could carry on. The thought of doing it for 40 weeks had me in tears whilst wailing to Him Indoors "I can't carry on......."

I am no top hard chick like superski I did think I was dying on a regular basis.

Just want you to know that you are not alone.

The righteous cah's who didn't have any ms aren't worth knowing. FAKT.

PerfectDromedary · 20/07/2010 20:56

Silver You have just described my days. That makes me feel much better.

Muse like a small mouse, I am keeping Dorianos by the bed - they're basically salted crackers, bland as all fuck but seem to stave off the nausea long enough for me to get up. Or gingernuts, which seem to be magic at the moment (wiv respect, obv, to Ski's need to kill anyone who mentions ginger).

Ski is a proper DHB.

And Cho, hope the vile bitches departed with the minimum of fuss.

rollerbaby · 20/07/2010 21:29

okie you are my hero. I do occasionally have the full brazilians when I'm off on hols and wearing a bikini (won't be doing that again anytime soon), but mostly I wimp out at inbetweenys. It fucking hurts and I normally require a large glass of wine and a couple of paracetemol before I go in. And I want a natural birth - ha ha ha ha ha ha!!!

I was a bit innocent in the ways of body grooming in those heady Manchester days. Despite heading to the Hacienda every Friday in a skirt that barely covered my knickers. I'm sure teenagers now think that they should be born with inch wide landing strips.

OkieCokie · 20/07/2010 21:38

I have found (after 9 yrs) of having it done, that it doesn't really hurt any more than having my eye brows waxed. Weird huh? It just takes longer. The lady that does it can have me in and out in 12 minutes which I think is pretty impressive, but it takes going every 6 weeks to get to this stage! She did tell me once the worst customer she had actually got a bit freaked and slammed her legs shut with all the wax on - messy!

Backinthebox · 20/07/2010 22:17

Ouch! Without going into too much detail, I found that anything less than full on Heidi plaits down to the knees leaves me with an uncomfortable feeling when riding a horse. I am a natural gal below . Except for any bits that might scare small children at the swimming baths, of course.

Silver why is him indoors horrified at the idea of a short term loan - is he happy to do all the hard work for you instead? Horse will still be there for you at the end of it all, and you can still go and pat him. You can be very specific with the terms of a loan, including keeping him at present yard. As for baby inna sling onna horse - the acknowledged way of getting your child out in the fresh air is to obtain a pony and basket saddle from somewhere. Ponies dead easy to come by, basket saddles surprisingly harder!

SkiHorseWonAWean · 21/07/2010 05:53

Any news from the lovely iggy yet?

silver You can't do DIY and work ft, it's just too much! What are you going to do post-partum? There's no way I could do stable duties ans recover and feed a baybee! You need a sharer - albeit temporarily. Wot no GCSE student on summer hols you can boss around in return for free rides? I think 'im indoors needs to take a realistic look at this. Whilst you'll want to be back in the saddle within the month the first 2 weeks will be hell and you just won't have that 2/3 hours a day and you certainly won't have the energy - at least not to the detriment of your own mental health and your marriage (imo)! When I was in hospital it was really hard for jailbait to organise the house, be at the hospital and take care of the dogs - without throwing the hoss in to the mix too! He's now back at work (albeit part-time) and if he were full-time it would be putting a huge strain on things here. Beware all of you in fact whose partners will be going back to work full-time after paternity leave!

In addition to ms woes, this "burst of energy in the second trimester" is a total fucking myth too. What they mean by burst of energy can actually be translated to "feels slightly less shit than 6 weeks ago". I got a burst of energy at around 31 weeks though. Brilliant tar. Useful et al.

iggypiggy · 21/07/2010 06:50

Just an update... Not much happening here... Just twingea and the occasional more painful one, but they v sporadic and not really anything to start getting excited about... If any developments I'll tell you all!

CurlyCasperBaggedABairn · 21/07/2010 08:02

Thanks for the update iggy - very much thinking of you here. Would some BUMSEX help things along ? xx

Muser · 21/07/2010 08:16

Well this morning was amusing. Took advice and ate 3 crackers in bed. Didn't throw up before getting in the shower, a triumph! Had shower and went back to bedroom, still no puking. MrM asked if I'd been sick and I said "no, maybe eating crackers in bed actually wor-heuuurgh..."

And then I went and threw up. Although it helped having something in my stomach to throw up. I do feel a bit better than yesterday.

iggypiggy · 21/07/2010 08:30

casp BUMSEX

am SO childish....

muse sorry you vomming. Much sympathies. I never actually threw up , just felt rough and gagged, and I remember how bad even that felt, so I hope you feeling a bit better? I did struggle through days at work that I wish I hadn't... It wasn't as if I was even vaguely productive (I have my own office and spent one day with my head on my hands all morning). So please
to take it easy if you can? Also that goes for drom too and anyone else that is suffering... And I do know that I had it easy!

Right am off to paint nails and read book.

Backinthebox · 21/07/2010 08:32

What they mean by burst of energy can actually be translated to "feels slightly less shit than 6 weeks ago". -Yup!

SkiHorseWonAWean · 21/07/2010 08:41

Iggy bumsex no. You does not wish to discuss unusual shpunk discharge with dishy consultant when (if) you lay a poo before baybee. Most unbecoming.

muse Your baybee is sucking life from you. Please to see positives?

What do you hossy gals make of equine osteopaths? I have rather a good girl who's a lecturer AND her mum is English (no language barrier!) and who lives less than 20 miles from yard. Haven't seen her in years but am fed up. Ask 8 people, all will pick different foot/shoulder as source of lameness.

laurielou · 21/07/2010 08:45

Morning PESHies, just popped in to catch up on your goss Pliz to get a move on, I have a very dull day in the office which could do with livening up. Thanking you kindly

cho, muse, med - tis lovely to see you finally in the Deli. This talk of MS & stretchy aches is not so lovely. Take time off, watch a bit of Jeremy Kyle & This Morning in your pj's whilst eating Crunchy Nut Cornflakes from the box*

*I've heard this is what some people do when not working.

Pliz to enjoy these donuts (except you iggs, not until you've laid your baybee)

laurielou · 21/07/2010 08:47

ski has some wise words re BUMSEX

OkieCokie · 21/07/2010 09:03

I laid a poo aswell as a baybee in labour apparently 4 out of 5 do! 2 days on the midwife asked if I had "opened my bowels yet" and I said no, too scared, and I can't remember the last time I did, and he said (yes, he!) you did when you gave birth

Think I still have my fiver on tomorrow for iggs. I am off to Newcastle today so will be off line for a few days - please to someone to text me if any news.

muse sorry about the vomming. How about a cup of ginger tea first thing in morning?

Re the renewed energy I really did feel pretty good for the whole of 2nd trimester 1st time around. This time has been a totally different story!

SkiHorseWonAWean · 21/07/2010 09:09

I had tears streaming down my face over that "embarassing childbirth" thread where one of the women recalls wailing "why isn't my baybee making any noise?" and the mw responding with "that's a poo dear, poos don't cry".

Tomorrow is my due date.

SomethingSuitablyWitty · 21/07/2010 09:13

moo How did you end up at the doctors with the waxing kit???!!! Details needed I'm afraid. Did you pull off half your skin or what? okie I am horridly fascinated by your boil. Don't wax it though. That way lies disaster.

muser can't believe you airily proposed to clean up cat feces! Why, the pregnancy police woudl have taken you straight into custody. Here in Belgium they are so paranoid about the remote possibility of toxoplasmosis that I have to wash each individual leaf of lettuce several times before actually eating it... But perhaps you are immune to it?

Actually, I recently started to get a bit tired of the whole food paranoia and said argumentatively to the midwife at my last visit: 'after all, it is really a very remote possiblity, isn't it?' and she said, very seriously: 'well, yes, but it is important to be careful: all the cases I've had where women have contracted it during pregnancy, they hadn't actually paid attention at all'. So it seems it does happen. Or was that just clever manipulative psychology of the kind employed by estate agents?

iigggyyy very excited for you! Time to start visualising missis! I have seen two new born babies in the last two days and can confirm that they are worth it. I even held one . So tiny! The adorable pictures of the peshlets should also provide good motivation!

cho hope the twinges have eased off! Try not to worry about them. There are lots of stretchy, pokey pains in these early days and all a good sign generally!

Crunchy Nut Cornflakes out of the box...wow, takes me back. To a good saturday morning place. More into vile All Bran these days, sadly...

Thanks to all for the bb info. Very informative. Made me feel better too - perhaps I am not expanding at a monstrous unnatural rate after all

Muser · 21/07/2010 09:43

I was going to wear gloves!

ski I am focusing on the positive side of my darling little parasite. I actually do feel better today. Still sick, but not the "kill me now" of yesterday. I do feel a bit sorry for MrM. His experience at the moment is: morning: I feel sick. afternoon: I still feel sick. evening: what is this food you've lovingly prepared? Don't want it. Feel sick. 9pm: I'm going to bed.

I am the world's worst sick person. I do not cope well, in fact I behave like a man.

I imagine when you're giving birth you really don't care about the pooing. That's what I am focusing on.

Ooooh. Me and MrM decided last night that we would start telling more folk. We've calmed down a bit, thought about the risks, and decided we're very excited. I am also motivated by the fact that otherwise I'd end up telling friends at one of my very good friend's hen night. And that seems wrong and thunder stealing. Plus this way if there are any activities I can't do I can advise straight away.

God, that was one rambly post. Umm, yeah. Jam.

reginaMonologue · 21/07/2010 09:45

Morning All

I haz booked in for a blood test - there is no reasonable way I should be this tired all the time even though I ate 2 fillet steaks yesterday. Lets see what the iron results come back as, though if the prescription is more fillet steak I can probably live with that .

I am tra-lah-la excited, our skip has just arrived ready to demolish the bathroom in readiness for our re-fit. I have a sledge hammer nestled by my leg as I type and the plumber has confirmed a start date of next wednesday... yippee! I really should get my shit organised and order the bathroom cabinet - anyone got any suggestions for nice ones?

And defo in agreement with boxy and ski on the 2nd trimester bullshit - unless of course actually being able to semi-function through baby brain and staying awake for more than 3 hours is what is considered as a "burst of energy".

My MS was much like igs - never threw up just constant feeling of "god help me I'll never have sex again". In many ways just feeling sick and not producing the goods was quite disappointing because I've always found I felt much better after puking due to over-alcoholism or eating (hmmm, 1lb of toffee in one sitting wasn't a good idea).

Also, why don't I have a line down my belly yet - is this something that happens later? I'm quite distressed about it's absence, I was planning on graffiting something suitably disturbing on there for OH to poke fun at.

CUNextTuesday · 21/07/2010 09:57

I recall announcing to the room that I had pooed. Shameless . Hom made to go and look and I shouted at him not to. So preserved some dignity... like it made any difference at that point...

SomethingSuitablyWitty · 21/07/2010 10:03
