beatie · 25/08/2005 15:04

Congratulations Sarahhal and Mr Hal!

mummyhill · 25/08/2005 15:10

Congratulations Sarahhal and Mrhal wow our second baby can't wait to hear all the details but enjoy the babymoon for a while before posting!!!!

pooka · 25/08/2005 15:32

Congrats to Sarah and Mr Hal - how lovely :}
Am seething with envy though!
We haven't found out the sex, am convinced it's a boy. Obviously don't mind either way, but would quite like a girl again - though dd wants a brother.

jessysmummy · 25/08/2005 15:55

Hi all!
Congrats to the Hal family and new addition.
Just a quick post as last day at work and my internet connectionhas gone down at home so don't know when I'll be able to post again.
Have had lovely last day at work with cakes and ballooons and flowers and vouchers...even jelly and icecream!
Hope everyone keeps well until I'm able to post again and good luck to all those with rumblings of labour.
Hopefully will be back on line soon.
Still no sign of RZ???????
Take care x

andif · 25/08/2005 16:50

Congratulations and much to the Hals . It's getting SO exciting!! Who will be next...
Hope everyone will stay with the sept postnatal thread though...

mummyhill · 25/08/2005 17:06

Well unless we have any more suprises over bank holiday weekend it should be Diane77 with her planned section.

Redhelen · 25/08/2005 17:08

Wow - congratulations Halfamily!!

Sarah was due on 15th Sept. - this could make predicting who's next very tricky!!!

Boompi · 25/08/2005 17:39

Congrats Halfamily

Dont know sex - my guess is boy.

bubbles2904 · 25/08/2005 17:44

OMG, i leave for a few hours and a new baby lands. big congratulations to sarah and mrhal. love the name, that was one of them on my list as thomas is mine and dp's dads middle names. can't believe the news of number 2, rz may have had hers because she hasn't posted for a while but my money is on kiwikate being next. i'm quite anxious now, all the august babies haven't arrived yet and we have 2 already. a lady i know has had her dd2 today by planned cs, she weighed a WHOPPING 10lb2 ............... OUCH!!!!!!!

pooka · 25/08/2005 18:05

Oh my goodness! HAve just noticed babyhals name.... we're thinking of Tom Alexander for a boy (both are kind of family names). Have been trawling through baby name books but really finding it hard for a boy.
So, SarahHal, if the babe is a boy, as I suspect, I am so sorry if it seems like I'm a big fat copycat. It would be Tom rather than Thomas, though.........

zoezebra · 25/08/2005 18:56

Congratulations to Hal family.
Kiwikate - any news??
We have chosen Jasper for our little bubba, dd has also learnt this and calls the bump by this name so we can't change ours now.
Off out to visit a friends to get legs covered in fake tan in the hope that I will hang on to the baby for my sisters wedding on sat. Also going to get toes painted! I guess if I don't make it to the wedding at least I'll look slightly glamorous for giving birth.
Will check back later to see if any more babes have popped out.

zubb · 25/08/2005 18:57

I've just painted my toes for the last time before I have this baby - getting too difficult now!

beatie · 25/08/2005 19:07

I'm staying at my parents house tomorrow and I am going to ask my mum to repaint my chipped toenails.

zubb · 25/08/2005 19:17

good plan beatie! I mentioned it to dh, but he just told me not to bother! They were getting quite chipped though, so I did manage to remove the old and reapply. Quite impressed I could still reach OK, but like I said it was the last time!

milward · 25/08/2005 20:05

Many congrats to the Hals Lovely news. It's super to hear about the baby's arriving now. I have a while to wait - perhaps 2 weeks but hopefully by 4 weeks!!

ych · 25/08/2005 21:20

Congratulations Sarahal & Mr Hal - that's fab news! You were due only 2 days before me.

Good luck to Kiwikate, sounds like you may be next.

I've just had my hair cut & coloured too. Not had it done in ages and it was getting really long and out of shape, got lots of lovely layers cut in and, as some of you have already said, it's going to look rubbish without the help of straighteners! Will have to just tie it back while in hospital.

Incase I forget, good luck Diane77 for Monday. Infact, good luck to everyone, the race is on. Looking forward to hearing news of baby no 3.

KiwiKate · 25/08/2005 21:44

Congratulations to the Hals! Great to hear all went well and mum & baby doing well at home already.

Thanks for all the support messages - but it turns out it was a false alarm (must have been DH's cooking ). Sex didn't speed things up (sorry if tmi), so I am not expecting anything to happen soon. DH was so lovely though, getting hot packs for my back to ease my cramps. (BTW, anyone with back cramps in labour - hotpacks really helped me last time in labour.)

Not sure if boy or girl. Already have one boy. Would love a girl for my own sake, but think it would be nice for DS to have a brother. So will be thrilled either way. I want DH to tell me the sex when baby is born though, as that will be really special.

Has everyone chosen names yet? We've had a boys name for ages, but only came up with a girls name last week.

beatie · 25/08/2005 21:49

It still might not be long KK.

We have chosen names but I am not 100% certain on the girl name. Trouble is DH barely likes any names so I feel like I get beaten into a corner and end up going with the only choice we both like - which is probably number 8 on my list and number one on his list. This happened with my first DDs name.

It doesn't seem fair really. He ought to throw more suggestions out.

KiwiKate · 25/08/2005 22:33

Beatie, DH and I could not agree on a dd name, and I think we must have discussed every name in history! Our agreement was that each could "veto" a name that the other came up with. We now have what I think is a lovely first name (although I've cooled on the second name and still have to broach that with DH, as the second name was his choice). He initially said I could choose (as he chose DS's names), but ended up vetoing everything I came up with (until this last one, which was my idea ). I thought we would never agree and would end up with Baby X.

Am making the most of not being a new mum by doing some work (I run my own business from home, so anything I get out of the way before the birth is something less to do afterwards). I'm sure to run out of energy (and/or enthusiasm) soon, though.

KiwiKate · 25/08/2005 22:34

Beatie, I meant to say, if you throw out some more suggestions, he might (eventually) agree with one of your names. I just kept going with suggestions until DH (eventually) agreed to one.

pooka · 25/08/2005 23:05

We have lots of choices for girls names but only 1 boys name though. Don't know why I find it so difficult - dh the same.

bubbles2904 · 26/08/2005 07:17

kiwikate, my fingers are still crossed for you that you are about to give birth. on the name front, we agreed that all 3 of us had to agree on a name and if one of us didn't like it then we'd find another one. dd agrees with all the ones i like so that part was easy but dp said no to absolutely everything. i just said my favourite name so much that he came to like it, and even convinced himself that he came up with it. the middle name is that of a person who is very special to me. dp hasn't agreeed on this name yet but i'll get my own way when she's here as i'll play the "i've carried it around with me for 9 months and don't even get to pick the middle name ffs". lol, works a treat!!!
i'm not left thinking who'll be next, but i am wandering how many sept babies will arrive before sept does??? my guess is 5!!!anyone else care to guess?

bubbles2904 · 26/08/2005 07:20

jessysmummy, glad you had a lovely last day at work, and with all those pressies too. look forward to hearing from you soon xxx
zoezebra, jasper is a lovely name

moschops · 26/08/2005 09:10

congratulations to the 'Hals'......enjoy your new arrival.....and take care of each other too, my dp has been an absolute life saver these last three weeks.

as for names dp and i had both agreed on Lemuel for a boy even before we were trying for a baby. the middle name had been discussed but never decided on. in the delivery room after the birth dp made a suggestion for a middle name which i wasn't keen on, and he kissed me and said 'after what you just did you can give him any middle name you want'............i don't know what i did to deserve such a good man!!!
