Welcome to the thread, before the thread, before the final thread where I give birth.

And in case you're needing it here is the Post-natal thread

Any news?
Arcadie don't worry. we'll keep you company!

MummyElk · 31/03/2010 16:08

loving the blues song - who'd've thought we'd end up not only with our own crazy thread with its own nooky corner but a SONG and an IMAGINARY TRUCKER...

AND
Arcadie - you do now realise that this thread is ALL ABOUT YOU?!!! All five hundred and fifty three posts are, essentially, for your benefit....

i might do a rap later.
and dig out the harem pants....

Arcadie · 31/03/2010 17:42

evitas · 31/03/2010 18:54

Oh... so cute Henrietta. Your other kids seem also so happy with the new baby! Congratulation

Caitni · 31/03/2010 20:10

Congrats Henrietta - so happy to hear of Josiah's express delivery!

BMI i love the overdue trucker blues song!

Arcadie I really feel for you going overdue again...I found going overdue tormenting, and irrational as it sounds now, I really did think I'd be pregnant forever. Even typing that now makes me but at the time I did lie awake at night fretting about it! But soon your baby will be here and this bit of the pregnancy will be over. If I were you I'd push to be monitored for a bit longer. You're right that their agenda will be to ask you in for induction asap (that's what they did with me too), but there's nothing wrong with taking a bit longer. It sounds like your other inductions went well so you were probably right on the cusp of going into labour naturally. But there's still lots of time for things to kick off naturally - I'm keeping my fingers firmly crossed for you

Arcadie · 31/03/2010 20:21

Caitni Thank you so much for your kind helpful words. You're a star

Just got off phone to Mum to sort out her and Dad coming up to look after DS and DD when I go in. I said to both of them:
"They'll want to induce on 8th or 9th but I'm hoping I can swing the 12th"

Dad's reaction.

Mum's reaction. "Go for it"

Guess which of my 2 parents has experienced 2 medical inductions and a final, much longed for, natural labour!?

That last track goes out to BusyMissIzzy

Oh and this one was written by a composer friend of mine today....

Yo little Dean,
When will you be seen?
Your mummy is rather fed up.

Think this is cool?
"By March" was the rule!
So please will you now hurry up?!

There's no more denying
That your mum's been trying
To work out the best way
To help you speed up.

But hey, little Dean,
Whenever, I mean,
I guess you'll know when to show up.

arcadie was thinking about you all today..

have you tidied up in here? Just these pinapple skins hanging round... Nookie corner is looking bit dusty though!!

Just think - you might have a lovely Easter surprise instead

PacificDogwood · 31/03/2010 21:45

I somehow missed the 'Overdue Blues' - inspired , both BMI and Arcadie: what a talented bunch you all are!!

And I think the idea of an Easter Bunny for Arcadie is a cute one indeed.

You hang in there, baba will appear when ready. Like you mum's attitude, too . Great that you have her support on board.

On massive congratulations to henrietta, lovely boy with lovely names. at express delivery, though. Hope you are getting a chance to rest and looking forward to seeing you on the other side when you are ready.

Arcadie · 01/04/2010 09:01

TMI ALERT

Congrats Henrietta!

Arcadie · 01/04/2010 12:16

OK OK My waters have gone. Not with a bang but a whimper.
I have 24 hours to get baby out on my own or they'll induce me tomorrow. A few twinges but nothing to write home about. Mum and Dad packing furiously and getting on the A1 asap. For those of you who didn't get a chance to look at my facebook - do! People's comments are PRICELESS!

OP posts:
BusyMissIzzy · 01/04/2010 12:36

Arcadie if I wasn't so pleased and excited for you re: waters breaking I would point out how MEAN you are. All your lovely friends' comments on FB; priceless indeed I probably would have fallen for it too had MummyElk not outed you on here before I checked FB.

PacificDogwood · 01/04/2010 13:02

Arcadie, I hope you are holding a babe in your arms by the time you read this ! You go, girl!!

See, I always knew it was prudent to stay clear of that dodgy FB tingmy ...

OK CX are about 5 -8 mins apart not desperately regular but then again I've had a HOUSEFULL of people so haven't been paying them as much attention as I could have.
Wonderful SIL came round with my kids after toddlers and watched over her 2 and my 2.

Then my friend popped in with her 2. I'd texted to say - pop in if you'd like (she'd travelled from Manchester to York to see me and a few other chums) but my CX are getting closer together and I'm not sure how much polite conversation I'll be up to. Sadly she didn't get the text so arrived for a full on all afternoon playdate and was in no mood to hurry off until I got her to strap on my TENS machine and started making "the contraction face". I think she got the message. Eventually.

Anyhow DH home now from work. SIL has taken all the kids away for tea and a bath to return them here later on. Still hoping for homebirth but have yet to hear from the MW whether the other lady in labour has beaten me to the homebirth team.
