rots To be fair she made a nice gracious response to VAG and agreed it's probably not all about ponies, etc. So I don't think we need to embelish the supposed views anymore now, do we?

Mmmmmm... blue cheese...

givecarrotsachance · 16/03/2010 13:56

pony XPOST. while I find your views on dogs repulsive, obviously, I can understand your POV. Ours doesn't come in the house, although I would have him in, YOB put his foot down which is ok as mine loves living outside (if you bring him in he sits by the door and waits to be let out). He lives in the warmest room, the utility which has the boiler in, and spends his life mooching around outside and chasing squirrels in the woods behind our house.

Much better to decide whether they're the best pet for you, and if not, don't. There was a thread on AIBU recently about someone whose husband had persuaded her to get a lab puppy and then buggered off leaving her to deal with it (with no experience) and a small child. She was finding it really tough and wanted to get rid of it - she got loads of stick which was a shame.

Obviously I know you'd know what to do but I accept your not particularly wanting a dog yourself and allow you that opinion .

re bess - you won't be the only one who disagrees that she wasn't welcome here. I'm also not the only one who didn't want to welcome her. But I feel that comments such as she made on that thread show her to be petty, spiteful and just not a nice person so from my POV I'm pleased to be in a "room" with people I like. I just don't want to hang around with people (albeit virtually) that I don't find are as open minded as you are. Obviously this is an open thread and is read by far more than post on it but I still prefer to only be chatting to people who don't annoy the hell out of me.

If she came back, so be it. It's an open thread.

iggypiggy · 16/03/2010 13:56

No news of sex - we didn't want to know and they didn't linger in that area at all!

They is so quick - is so impressive...

I haz little print out of all the things they measured tho - is v. exciting.

pone am with you - she was welcome - but she flounced because of repulsive views. I too am in the "tolerate all views" camp...

Just to put perspective on cost of ponies vs. other animals for any of you non horsey peoples - my dog walking costs (at £6 per hour for 2 hrs a day) cost more than a week's livery for my horse - which inlcude his feed and exercise. Also am pretty sure children cost more

iggypiggy · 16/03/2010 13:59

Thanks all - by the way.

cunty I does feel much more settled these days

givecarrotsachance · 16/03/2010 14:00

pony apologies, I'm not trying to be difficult - I'll shut up now

skihorse · 16/03/2010 14:01

Do you know what rots? I have shagged far worse than Cameron. True that is. AT least he looks clean if you see where I'm coming from, probably wouldn't hit you up for bus fare in the morning either! You're right though "voting Tory" is an insult beyond the pale!

Fuck me, what I pay in livery a month (195 euros) probably wouldn't even buy me a Kath Kitson pinny!

I'll see your blue cheese rots and raise you Marmite... even before I'd typed that I could feel cossie's eyes of wrath upon my dog-lovin' back.

OP posts:
givecarrotsachance · 16/03/2010 14:01

iggs I can confirm children cost more!!!

My parents do driving trials - a lot more expensive than riding - and LC STILL costs more.

skihorse · 16/03/2010 14:04

PS ponee I love my baybee and I'm sorry you find it repulsive but it makes me gooey and I'm not going to apologise for being pregnant and in love.

iggy, cossie told me you had a very slow meander in to work today - does this mean you and your husband gazed in to each other's eyes giggling and happy all morning? If yes, fucking repulsive, PDAs I mean.

All this cliqueyness has really brought out my swearing.

cunty Stilton curry sounds lovely, does that come with a shellfish chaser?

OP posts:
givecarrotsachance · 16/03/2010 14:04

Oh ye gods, marmite. YOB was eating blooming Twiglets the other day - SOO wrong. He says he had fun in the US where he lived for a lot of years, having imported jars of it. People would ask what it was and he'd say, "Oh it's Marmite, we just eat it on a spoon - try it" and passes a teaspoonful.

skihorse · 16/03/2010 14:05

route? root, rootin' tootin'. gah

OP posts:
skihorse · 16/03/2010 14:07

Strangely, Twiglets are right, Marmite in its purest form is wrong. I don't understand why this is so.

VoilaAnotherGimlet · 16/03/2010 14:09

While we're at it, I may as well Out myself. I don't much like animals. Pleeeeease still like me! I like that other people like them, I just wouldn't want one myself. I would also chop my own hands off before voting Tory but that isn't to say I don't have a range of political opinions - though I quite like that we don't really go there on this thread (ah the irony).

Igs - fabbo! Will there be an upload in the other place?

Right, who's the food expert? - is camaembert ok if it's baked? And spelled correctly? I've been very Vague about food choices to date but have a menu for a meal a month or so away so have plenty of time to fact-check and not simply "pretend I didn't know".

iggypiggy · 16/03/2010 14:17

VAG please to see this from the FSA (Eatwell site) (here for link

Q. Can I eat Brie and blue cheese when I'm pregnant if it's cooked?
A. Pregnant women are advised against eating these types of cheese because of the risk of listeria. However, thorough cooking should kill any listeria, so it should be safe to eat food containing, these and other cheeses such as Camembert or chevre (a type of goats' cheese), that have a similar rind, provided it has been properly cooked and is steaming hot all the way through.

The governement say it is true - so it must be

I might upload pic here... unsure - oh yeah VAG where is YOUR pic

ski yas - we walked across London in the sun as was such nice day and we were so happy

skihorse · 16/03/2010 14:19

VAG This camembert... has it been under the hot French sun since 10am and touched by peasant bogey-fingers or will you be purchasing it at Waitrose on the way home?

You don't like animals? Please report to remedial riding-lessons school at 9am sharp Saturday morning at Hyde Park stables. iggy will be your instructor du jour. Following on from horses, curly will be taking you backstage at Crufts before passing you over to Cossie for a lesson in finding cat-hair-in-unopened-jars.

ski Confession time: Before Baybee I was a very busy and important work-freak with strict diary scheduling and no time for emotions. Then once the foal arrived I became the archetypal soppy mummy: breast feed on demand, always cuddle her if she cries, absolutely no routine ("her needs are her wants"), etc.* So I dig your burgeoning soppiness. I just draw the line at being told I am raising a 'Little Princess'.

*Whereas my sister was a hippy lavendar field home birth type, who once her baby arrived became a control freak, routine addict, controlled-crying devotee.

Which leads me to say, have any of you thought about what kind of parent you are going to be? Just another thing to fret about!

VoilaAnotherGimlet · 16/03/2010 14:25

ski Er...... I don't want to. But thank you for the offer! I am truly happy animals exist....I just don't want to live with one (and am a bit scared sometimes).

Thanks for cheese-advice. It's a sad day when I prefer to come to a bunch of people I have never met before trusting government guidelines.....or a good day perhaps! If igs with her NHS connections believes it, that is good enough for me. Yummy!

(And will attempt pic upload from home later - though they're only a blob....and you will still technically not know whether it's my scan or one I found on the street while drinking cider and scratching my balls....)

VoilaAnotherGimlet · 16/03/2010 14:27

I'm planning on being an on-the-gin-by-9am, food-in-my-hair, Jeremy-Kyle-watching, kids-running-wild type of parent.

Or a GF following monster.

I haven't quite decided.

skihorse · 16/03/2010 14:29

pony Well as every man and his dog has an opinion about how I should live my life as a pregnant woman, and every other thing I do is "wrong". I fully expect to be a "bad" parent, complete with slamming doors and "I HATE YOU" bellowed from the top of the stairs by the time My Little Emperor is 12. C'est normal, oui?

Actually we're modelling ourselves on a cross between Jim & Cheryl and Bill and "whomever" from cheesey american sitcoms.

Hello!!

I don't know who remembers me but i started the 30s TCC thread.

CUNextTuesday · 16/03/2010 14:33

Who was it that found a dog hair under her partner's foreskin?

HELLO DONTTRY!!!! WELCOME HOME!!! One more polite cough and you'll be there with your little babe in a fluffy white towel

skihorse · 16/03/2010 14:34

YAY donttry. Please do come back and tell us what's going on, assuming you do lay that baybee. Your kegels must be spectacularly strong at 42 weeks! Btw, a little girl? Fantastic! Tell us, have you tried the curry/sex/doing a jig thing to shake her loose?

VAG How are you with photos of kittens & shiz like that?

OP posts:
CUNextTuesday · 16/03/2010 14:34

Note to Donttry: I sued to be triggerhappy, but namechanged for Daily Mail avoidance purposes...

VoilaAnotherGimlet · 16/03/2010 14:36

donttry - of course we remember you! All the very best for Friday and keep us posted! And do feel free to while away the time here in the Deli with us!

VoilaAnotherGimlet · 16/03/2010 14:38

Ski - I think I'd have the same issues uploading photos of kittens as I would my scan pic

skihorse · 16/03/2010 14:38

cunty That was jailbait during the examination at the fertility clinic. The gynaecologist asked him to retract his foreskin and there it was... in all its doggy glory.
